I think you really need to get to the doctor. I know that tooth abcesses can be deadly and an infection in your head is not something to play around with.

I went to my doctor this morning to get some relief from my allergies. Apparently I have high blood pressure to the extent they want me on medication now. I am 27 years old and on high blood pressure meds. So far I've lost between 25-30lbs since being banded August 9th. I know it hasn't been that long since I've had my surgery, but I am still bummmed, this is one of the reasons I had the surgery. I need to pick myself up from being down about it I guess and get more serious about getting this weight off. Anyone else on HCTZ? They are starting me off on a Water pill to see if that helpls, I have to go in for blood work and back in 2 weeks for another blood pressure check.

I learned this the hard way. Stay away from KFC's mashed potatoes post op. They tend to stick together and get stuck. Best of luck to you!

Congrats on your banding! Make sure you are getting plenty of Protein, it always seemed to keep me full for a bit. I too went through the starving phase until my first fill. I'm not totally restricted, but it has given me some control. Best of luck to you!

Thanks for pointing this out. I was wondering. I'm still wearing my plus sized clothes, I haven't gone down a size yet.

I was wondering the same thing about the BMI.. I was trying to figure out how tall you had to be in order to have such a low one.

I think I just had my first PB session. We just got back to Dallas from Memphis. I was craving KFC all the way home. DH said he would take me there for dinner. Apparently the mash potatoes got stuck and my back started hurting really bad. Then came the burps followed by coughing and the potatoes. I have come to the conclusion that KFC does not agree with me after having pain with the chicken too. I now have no desire to ever eat there again, I know that will probably go away too. I am almost 4 weeks out and can't wait for a fill so I can get back on track.

I get my first fill tomorrow.

I used Dr. Powell who is in network for me. The Surgery Center of Richardson whould have ben out of network, so I ended up having mine at Renassiance (sp) Hospital instead. I asked my insurance company before surgery if I used SCOR if there would be a problem and they said yes that they were out of network and I would have to pay the difference.

Congrats! Something that might help you with the anesthesia part is telling the anesthesiologist the truth about your fear. I did and it went a lot smoother, he was extra nice to me and told me everything he was going to do. C-ya on the losing team!

I was given Heparin (blood thinner) prior to surgery 2 1/2 weeks ago in order to prevent blood clots. Shortly after surgery I began to spot and now it's been 2 1/2 weeks later and I am STILL on my period. Did anyone else have this problem and if so how long did it last?? Thanks!

You will do fine. I know about the not sleeping the night before trust me!!

Best of luck to you. I have 3 Labrador's that weigh over 220lbs together. I go into defensive mode when they are lose in the house and one comes near me. I love them to death, but I think I would cry and then have to be taken via ambulance to the hospital if one nailed me.

I'm right there with ya!! I still have 4 1/2 weeks to go on a 6 weeks Liquid diet. I am starving most of the time and was told by my doctor's office that I am getting adequate nutrition and to take up a hobby. Best of luck to ya!

I am a week post-op and healing slowly. My pain is mostly around my port area which I know is common. Today was my first day back in school (I'm a student). I sat through 2 classes and then had a 2 hour long lab. Thank God I didn't pass out when I had to stick others with needles! I am starting to really doubt the decision I have made. I miss food terribly. My doctor has me on a 6 week liquid post-op diet. He won't even let me have Jello. The most filling thing I can eat is my Protein shakes. I go in for my 2 week post-op appointment in about a week. According to the scales in lab I have already lost 15 pounds. Not only do I miss eating, but I really feel like crap. I am very tired and literally feel like someone beat me up. Not to be personal, but I have been suffering from the runs for the past 3-4 days, I was told by my teacher (an RN) that is normal when on a liquid diet. The blood thinner they gave me in the hospital has caused nosebleeds and my aweful monthly visitor to appear uninvited. Will I ever be happy again or have any energy? The strings made me crenge (sp). The thought of having them near my eyes would make me want to crawl out of my skin.

I had Dr. Robert Powell. So far I have been very happy. I had my surgery done in Oak Cliff at Renissance (sp) Hospital. The hospital was very clean and newly remodeled. I was a little worried about having surgery in Oak Cliff, but was pleasantly surprised! Best of luck to ya!

Here I am 3 days out. My incisions feel tight in the mornings and seem to loosen up and get more comfy through out the day. The yellow near the incisions are bruises, I am VERY fair skinned.
