Lap Band Slipped, Gastric Sleeve failed, what's next?

Good luck Soli31! Remember your journey is "yours" we can all just share or not share our experiences but no one can tell you the right decision for you. When I had my sleeve last year my Surgeon did a very small sleeve but she has reminded me ( even though I have lost 81 LBS in my first year and likely will lose a few more)on every one of my followup appointments that I can stretch my sleeve/pouch if I don't watch my portion size. So I keep in mind that all these procedures are tools to help kick start our weight loss and reduce or eliminate our illnesses but WE must make the decision. Every day to follow thru on nutritionand exercise. All the best! quote name="Soli3l" post="3931941" timestamp="1440722473"]Endoscopy confirmed the doctor's suspicion...I have a big sleeve, it's also dilated w/ a bulge, he said it's not my fault, but it could be revised...now the waiting begins. -

Sleeping 45 degree, for 4-6 weeks!?!

I got a tip from another BP user & bought a recliner and spent my first 2 weeks sleeping there. One of my best postOp investments. It was more comfortable to sleep and to get up from. -

Hello Long Island NYC Chapter. Just wanted to send a quick message that I'm well & continue to lose weight since my VSG surgery 101414. Although I haven't been able to attend a meeting since just before my surgery I do grab a view on BP to see what's new with you all. I have been back on the road for work & just missed the last gathering in NYC. I see your looking for a LI meeting location let know if you need a resident sponsor for Huntington. They have great meeting rooms but it can take months to get on the calendar. Just had my 6 month followup appt today with Dr Christine Ren. Can't believe it's been 6 month with no problems & a slow but steady weight loss. I've lost 76 lbs to date & I have so much energy!!! My challenges are getting enough protein in & exercise when I'm on the road for work. I work in healthcare- long hours 12 hour shifts with no days off for 3 weeks or more then it home for a normal life & to recharge. Hoping once you set the next meeting I will in town & can attend. Until them keep the stories & the inspiration coming. It helps!!! -
@@Susan11803 just wanted to thank you for managing 3 back to back challenges. You gave me an extra incentive to stay on the healthy track thru Christmas, Valentine's Day & Easter. I was out of town for work the last few weeks of this last challenge & didn't have access to a scale till last Friday so didn't post. But I'm happy to report I surpassed by Easter goal weight & made it to 188lbs. And I've lost more since. So I'm happy with the results. Congrats to all who either lost a pound or 2 or stayed true to their health We're all one more step to making our outside match our true selves!

193.2 slight increase but had to weigh myself Friday morning before I went out of town for work. No scale here & I'm running with a heavy schedule, worked 14 hours yesterday. Expecting a good lost by end of the week. I'm going to find a scale before the last weigh in next week.

Well almost to goal. For this challenge 198.9. I was sick yesterday so hoping this loss stays. I'm smiling ear to ear because this also means I'm finally in Onederland. Thank you Susan for creating these challenges and making time to chart all our goals and results. It's helpful knowing we are all working to meet our goals. One request can we weigh in at the end of week next time.

@Debranua. I had my VSG surgery @ NYU Langone with Dr Christine Ren in October and I couldn't be happier with my decision. Dr Ren is excellent and the officer staff are great. My surgery was uneventful but it helped a lot that the nursing staff at Langone were so professional and caring. I started my journey last March and went thru the 6 months of visits with my primary doctor I remember feeling like it would take forever but before I knew it we were submitting to my insurance for approval and they did on the first try. I just went in last week for my 3 month Followup appointment and all my blood work was good and I feel great. I eat about 3/4 cup of food at one time and have 3 meals a day and maybe a snack of a great yogurt. I 've loss 55lbs since my surgery and dropped 4 pant sizes. I exercise mostly walking 4 miles 4 or more times a week. All the snow has been a challenge with my exercise. I come up with more reasons to delay exercising but I know that the answer to long term maintenance is exercise and getting my water in. Your suppose to get 64 ounces in but I usually get 48 to 54 ounces a day. I think I'll do better when it gets warmer Good luck with your journey I hope you'll be as happy as I am with your decision. -
Sorry for being late 203.3
