Hospitals are notoriously cold to fight germs. I may find a robe in my closet for my overnight stay & leave my sweats for traveling to & from. Picking up the Gas Strips & Sippy Cup today.

Wow folks have been busy today I got 60 plus posts into my phone today as I was doing my errands. Nice to sit here tonight & catch up. So much great info. I getting my Sippy Cup tomorrow. No gulping for me!!! 2 more days . This was a great day despite pouring rain. I made my last run to goodwill some shoes I hardly wore & some books I enjoyed but taking up too much space. I use my Nook for reading now. I'm almost done with my recovery Oasis a second bedroom that's been underused. I have my new recliner & my old CD/cassette/ radio player out if storage set up. They laughed at Best Buy when I went in to find something that would connect my IPod device to it. But it set up now & my favorite music is ready. I set some candles out & placed my hands weights & exercise pad right next to the TV. I just have to add a throw rug. I wanted to paint the walls but I ran out of time so that will have to be part of my exercise come 5 weeks out!???? Sunday I'll be working on my hospital bag for Tuesday!

Hmmmm I was going to wear home some oversized sweat pants & plush pullover jersey. It's cold on the Eastcoast now. I don't have a comfortable dress. Question the hospital let you wear PJ's? On most recovery floors that's not standard but I will take my comfortable slip on's & leave the flips at home.

My straw is my tool for getting In my water & PostOp the " straw" as we all know is a no no so maybe a Sippy cup for home use

Hang in there misstvb. Remember this is all about the long term ....& 2 wks is nothing but a lot of 24 hour days your going to grow leaner & stronger in. You got this Gladiator!!!

I found out this evening I have to call Monday after 4 pm to find out my OR. Time the next day. Monday is going to be crazy!

My NUT recommended no TV for the first week to 2 weeks. Too many food commercials. Tonight has been crazy every other as is about food. Iam going to watch all my Fav shows onTivo and skip thru the commercials.

I've been making my hubby's dinner every week Night during my PreOp liguids and on the weekend he has wanted to do what we do/DID most weekend go out to eat. I be made it thru but weekend have been rough. Only 1 more to go and I'm too close to screw it up.

@@smiley922 I have one water bottle with a spout but it's connected to a straw. I love ice water so I bought a 34 oz Thermos pitcher that will keep liquid cold for 24 hrs and hot for 12 hrs so I will learn how to drink enough water from a cup

Ugh hope I don't have that problem 1.i like the GNC lean it's so easym& I have plenty left. I do have some whey Protein so I could make a drink from Scratch.

@@AuriP what brand Protein were you drinking during PreOp? I've enjoyed GNC Lean Protein Shakes & still have a couples cases for PostOp would hate to find out I can't get them down in PostOp

@amylynns. Maybe an extra protein will make all the difference good luck! I know I get in about 125 grams of Protein in each day way more than the minimum but still under the 1,000 calories I don't want to go over. I tried to ditch the straw the last few days & drink from a cup but my Water intake went way down Worried about PostOp H2o intake.........

So I'm just about finish cleaning& organizing in my house & my PostOp oasis. It does feel like "nesting" as was said earlier. My recliner arrived today. When I asked for PreOp advice a couple months ago elsewhere on BP the two pieces of advice was walk ASAP and use a recliner to sleep in the first week to reduce stress on the incision sites. My chair is great and helped convince my husband that it was time to move the sleeper sofa out. I've really been in a toss & clean mode for the last 3 weeks. I think I've donated about 9 large bags of clothes, books, purses & gadgets in the last few weeks. I usually do a major clean out twice a year but I came to realize all this stuff has been weighing me down. I really prefer open spaces but I've been traveling so much the last few years things just got ridiculous. Also because I wS constantly changing sizes I 4 sizes of clothes. And often with a new season I wouldn't like what I have or it be too small so I'd go pick up a larger size. How often did I get something I really didn't like but it fit.... Or it covered up so I made do. I probably would have kept that up but then I begin to notice my feet would be sore at the end of the workday or I was huffing when I walked up some steps. Then I was constantly tired but avoided telling the MD until this year when they sent me to a sleep center & I git the dreaded CPAC. My brother, my niece all have one & have accepted it but I just couldn't accept it. Plus they found I'm Pre Diabetic and I kept getting horrible bronchitis. I know this VSG won't solve everything but I'm really hoping for a kick start for a healthier me. During this process I had one doc try to convince me to just try one more diet. But good grief why shouldn't I use this amazing tool. Right now I'm focused on VSG day 10/14/14 & 7 days After 10/21/14 when I plan to be on the other side of the gas & pain & getting in my Protein & Water 4 More Days....... Getting Ready to Roar!!!!

I know your getting your water in so what about the total Protein? Could the lack of enough Protein be the cause of your headaches?
