Weighed myself Thanksgiving morning and walked 2 miles before dinner. I made all the deserts a Rum Cake & 3 pies & yes I had a taste as I always do while I was making it. So I understand what @@amylynns is taking about " food" is the center of most family events. I'm a comfort food eater brings back so many memories of my Mother cooking deserts we would have homemade rolls & 10 deserts at the Holidays. Every success was celebrated with food. So at dinner at a cousins I knew per my surgeon to get the. Dark meat on the Turkey as a former lover of white it was hard to bypass but I did. Then I added stuffing, greens, (mashed potatoes still unable to eat) & stayed away from the Mac & cheese & rolls. It all added up to about cup of food & I waited to drink 30 mins after I was not going to get sick. Funny how all. The conversations stop & the room goes quiet when everyone is eating Thanksgiving dinner. And yes later I had a taste of desert a silver of cake & pie but I left some on the plate couldn't finish it my pouch was full. I felt like I wasn't relaxed until after everyone had eaten and we all sat back & talked about our usual whose doing what. I didn't like that feeling at all BUT I also was amazed to sit across a distant cousin who had heaped food over every inch of her plate and had a fit waiting for our hostess to give the Ok that I could cut a piece of my famous cake for her. They just wanted to clear the table & she age 75 didn't want to wait. Now mind you she's diabetic walks with a cane & yes overweight. All the things I did this surgery to avoid. Her son kept reminding her to watch her portions but she couldn't resist. Her decision right. Oh how I remember leaving the holiday table feeling so full I wanted to or did unbutton my pants. Or ate smaller portions at dinner but take plenty of leftovers & ate again when I got home. I used to make 2 cakes for the dinner & one for the house. Not this year. I took no leftovers home & my husband took 2 slices of cake home & a plate for him and called it a day. Today when I weighed I had gone up 8 ounces. I call that a win! So in a week I've lost another 3.5 lbs the week for a total of 22 lbs since my surgery in Oct and 42 LBS from my highest in August. The loss is slow & steady plus I'm learning to appreciate my body. I love walking again & I'am up to 3 miles most days even in cold temps of 28 degrees although I'll probably join the seniors I. Mall walking soon???? Enjoy your Thanksgiving Holiday weekend I've got much to be thankful for better health No more CPAC and my blood pressure reading was back to My Normal at my 1 month Followup last week 120/80. Yeah!

Accomplished a mind challenge today. For the last three weeks I had been walking in my neighborhood for my exercise and I got up to 2 sometimes 3 miles a day. It felt great I could feel my self getting more flexible and my mood becoming calmer and my pants getting lose. But then last Thursday the weather took a turn no snow yet. But 32 to 28 degrees temps. It came on so quickly and I soon found myself skipping exercise and one day became two then five days and when I weighed myself the scale was the same as last week. Omg I hit a stall. Then the guilt as ice allied the 5 crackers with low fat cream cheese I ate 2 days and the Protein shake I didn't finish another day. I knew I needn't to rep,ace my walking with an indoor exercise and going to a gym was not my answer. For me I have to be able to roll out of bed I to my exercise gear and start a 20 minute car ride is too far particularly in the winter. I tried a 25 minute cardio routine I found on my satellite TV which was helpful I could only do 10 minutes the first day and then 15 a couple days later it helped but I missed my walking. Well I decided to challenge myself and I joined a group of women who run. Running is not me - my knees have always been weak I have arthritis in my knees. But I hoped if I joined this group they would inspire me if nothing else to keep walking. So today I got up at left the house at 5:30AM in the dark to drive to meet them for a walk run. I wore several layers and was still cold but I found them and I walked while they ran and by the time we finished the sun was up and I felt so good. I had left my comfort zone and it felt good. 3 miles in 30 degrees temps for me it was accomplishment. My good mood was back and I stayed on track with my food and liquids today got 2 Protein shakes in and 2 meals and a Greek yogurt and mor than 45oz of liquid. Still have to find an indoor exercise to supplement me but I know now I can keep walking outdoors for a while and it feels good. I go for my 1 month appointment with my surgeon tomorrow so we'll see what she thinks but I feel Like I'm doing well and I'm thankful for that.

@@amylynns glad they didn't have to change your stomach opening. Good that they found your urinary infection and addressed your other issues. Now you know what you have to do. Wishing you healthy days ahead.

@Luna222. The legs cramps likely mean your dehydrated. Drink drink drink Water, crystal light, green tea what ever you can get down. You don't want to end up in the ER.

@Superbariactricbabe. In my 5th week had my first occurrence of "want" it's not hunger. I ate 5 crackers with low fat veggie creme cheese by end of the day with my regular 3 meals I was close to 900 calories my highest PostOp ever. After I looked over the day I realized I hadn't gotten in my protein in for Breakfast & lunch on schedule everything was later in the afternoon after sleeping in & then getting busy. Plus I hadn't exercised walked for 2 days. Sunday I got back into my food routine Protein shake, Fish & meatballs for lunch & salmon & veggie for dinner with a half of Shake mid afternoon. I still had a sweet " want " late in the day but " chose" to have a Questbar apple pie around 9pm. Quest bars are great their 20 grams of protein 5 grams fat 10%calicium. I think not e revising for the last few days may also be contributing to the "wants". It's gotten cold here impacting my outside walking. This week my goal is to add indoor exercising that will keep me active during the long winter. Never been good with gyms I come up with too many excuses to not go. I have my month 1 Followup with the Surgeon this Friday so I want to make sure I stay on track. I think exercising & watching my food choices are key to my long-term success. Good luck!

@amylynns. Well now you have an answer & a way to resolve it. By the holiday you'll feel so much better!

Week 1 weight 225.4. Down a few at a smaller amount but steady in the right direction. I'm Happy????

Call your Provider. By the way are you walking regularly? How much liquids daily? Did you every try the Prune juice? I take 1 oz once a week & 2 days or less I'm good and it helps me stay regular.
-
@amylynns. I think it's time to call your Doc & Nut to discuss your symptoms.

Congrats@Bronxmerci. So glad your well enough to go home! What a wonderful Thanks-Giving present!

@kimodell69. I'm officially leaving purée stage today but in reality taking it real easy still have problems getting any fish down. My favorite meal was egg salad. Boil an egg then add it to a couple of spoonfuls of low fat veggie cream cheese & low fat mayo. Great protein meal!
-
@beni. You'll do better once you get more Protein & Water in. Everybody's different you'll probably have a Big loss soon! I still think I'm low but @ 5 weeks out I get in 28oz of Protein Shakes in plus 3 meals about 1/2 cup of food & 32 to 48oz of water in. I have what I think is a low weight loss 4 LBs a week but it's a steady loss. I also try & walk every day. Come on your going to be fine!

@@Bronxmerci if your jeans are sagging that's your sign & the fact you have the energy to walk the halls that's fantastic. So glad your doing better!!!

In reading over recent postings. I'am noticing individuals losing 15, 25 & 40 lbs. I loved @@Beni question and thought we might all want to answer it. So how do you feel now that you've had a significant loss. And let me remind you anything over 10lbs is significant and over 20 is the magic number most Doctors ask us to try to lose to make a different in Our health. I know I had a moment last week after losing 30LBs as I walked down the stairs I felt amazingly light as I stepped down the steps. And tonight carrying a 12 pack of paper towels & some detergent I noticed the weight different walking up the steps as I Carried it and then put it down. To think a few weeks ago that weight was on me! So now that your seeing a lost how do you feel?

Re liquids I noticed I'am doing better on intake today cause I'am out with my husband at a sports bar to watch football. As they eat I drink water & unsweetened ice tea. I sip they eat. I waited to order after they had almost finished it helped me know I could choose wisely and focus on my portion size. I drunk 2 -8 oz glasses of water so far plus 1/3 of a turkey burger no bun and couple of quarter slices of mozzarella and tomato. I gave the fries to the table of 5 and they took care of them. All &"all my food was Really good and I'm full. It is possible to go out and eat healthy
-
@freelyme. I don't really track hourly intake but it's low. Daily it's down since I started adding food but anything from 28 to 48 oz a day
-
Has anyone been tracking their measurements? I found I lost 9&1/2 so far! Explains the smaller size pants. I've been walking almost every day. This week I'm adding 2lb weights for my arms and steps to work on the legs. Trying to reduce the sagging skin.
