Beni. I sure hope they allow ice chips----- at least you know your time I'm still waiting to hear. I. Hoping they move you up on the OR schedule.

Welcome back AuriP. Yes there's a negative story for every good one. I just keep focusing on your never given more than you can handle. This will be the longest surgery I've ever had 2 hrs and this time no twilight anesthesia. The anesthesiologist told me 5 mins after they give me the IV I'll be out until it's over and I hear the m calling my name. I don't like taking medicine but for this give me The MED's!!!

Hey walkinonsunshine that diaphragm gas sounds horrible but Thankfully you made it through. Congrats on your surgery!

Thanks & all the Best Sleeveee I like the name change!!! -
So today was my PAT Testing Day Pre Admission Testing) everything went well ???? I met the Anesthesiologist and found her to be very accessible and clear in what I should expect. They took blood, a cheat X-ray and added my recent EKG to their Chart. Tomorrow I go for my final appt with my Primary Doc so They can give me my Medical Clearance. I will get a call later this week with the my Procedure time on the 14th. It's happening! I had an hour after my appointment before traveling home so I did some window shopping. Amazing to see Holiday Dresses are on the racks already took some pics of what I call skinny dresses and winter coats. I'm figuring I will need a new smaller ????winter coat before the season is over. My feet are a little swollen now after walking about only 12 blocks. Looking forward to that not being a problem very soon and yes a new winter coat. ))))

I will have to miss this gathering as I will only be 12 days PostOp. Look forward to reading the highlights. All the Best! -
to have Hey Amylynns my surgeon told me no Motrin, ibuprofen 7 days before so if you had to have a headache this first week was probably best. You might want to check with your surgeon to see what they want you to do.

It's major surgery of course you got nervous but for me I know it's the right decision for me. Only you know what's right for you. I'am the day before on the 14th We can do this!

Fine met with the RN, blood drawn, chest X-ray .... Waiting for anesthesia to come in. I'm calm today yesterday I was a little sad, anxious and tense as I did my errands. I'm trying to get everything in place so my husband will be ready to take care of me plus we take care of his 86 yr old mom. I travel a lot for work & when I get back things are always discombobulated until I reorganize everything. I'm the planner and the organizer & a bit Type A personality so I have to just get things in order & then let him do it his way. LOL

Hi Beni I'm on the 14th. Sitting in PAT testing
-
Hey amylynns glad your feeling better. What day is this for your PreOp liquids?
-
I swear by the Ap Myfitnesspal.com I used that for the first time just to track my food and it helped me make better food choices. I lost 10 pounds in a month. Just shows how much extra sodium and high fructose sugar I was eating. Getting in the exercise was my problem. This weight has made walking more than 2 blocks at a time feel like I was doing a 5k. I do love the Fitbit as well for tracking my steps and other exercise but I keep losing them. I just bought a new one so I'll be ready with PostOp walking.

Beni I do pretty good with water usually about 45-48 oz of water plus a couple diet ice teas but not quite 64oz I'm working on it. But I'am worried about losing the straw PostOp. I tried drinking without it today didn't make my usual oz's plus I was running errands.

I'm wondering how Karenallen & AuriP are doing? Wishing them a speedy return to pain free days.

Sherrib4health so sorry your cold is delaying you from surgery tomorrow but better to be at your best . Don't worry your day is coming

Tacycakes Re water I am already up too many times in the night no matter if I start my liquids at 8am or 10am. I also find using a water bottle with a built in straw is my best tool. I'm concerned about having to give up straws for PostOp so I'm starting to get away from using the straw this week. For me it's all about putting things in place now to get my brain ready for the transition. Based on reading a couple of books and all the posts on BP I know for me 1/2 of my success will be based on getting my brain Right for this amazing opportunity to reset my body for better health. & yes ...... Giving away 4 sizes of pants LOL!

Amylynns Im so not looking forward to the catheter I had forgotten till AuriP mentioned it.

Hello Tacycakes my PreOp is 4 to 5 Protein drinks & 1 cup of veggies a day @ 1,000 calories a day 50% protein & no more than 35 grams of Fat a day. Getting in the Protein first makes all the difference plus water in dealing with hunger & fatigue. I am drinking bet 45 to 50 ounces of water trying to get as close as possible to 64 oz. You'll be fine with PreOp! Welcome to October!

So I survived the weekend my husband must be testing my resolve. Saturday it was a run to the mall where he decided he was starving and I had to watch him eat a sandwich & French F----s. Today it was going to join friends at a Sports Bar for football. I took my protein drink with me both times and drank it at the table along with water from the restaurant sat and Drank it in the Parking lot before going into the bar. And had a ice tea & water inside. Yes I aced it But today was tough and I drove my own car and left after 2 hours of watching everybody eat around me. Football Sunday's will be a challenge! But I want this too bad to mess up now and I'm in this for the long haul. 9 more days of Pre-op to go. I do find I look forward to the 1 cup of salad/ veggies I get to eat each day I miss the crunch. As Katy Perry sings " I got the eye of the Tiger, the fire, dancing through the fire Cause I am a champion and you're gonna hear me ROAR."( Thanks AuriP it's a favorite song of mine too!
