Just at beginning of my journey to find peace from a lifelong battle to lose weight. After losing & gaining from age 16 to my 50's trying so many diets I am the heaviest in my life at 260. I really want to win this battle. I feel like I've physically aged 3 years in the last 6 months. After reading books on B surgery I see this as my best plan of action. I have done the info session, confirmed my insurance will cover most of the cost. asked my Primary for a letter of support, done the psych eval & confirmed I do have sleep apnea. I Met with my surgeon on March 19th and decided the Gastric Sleeve is the right procedure for me.
My insurance requires 6 consecutive visits to my primary to discuss weight loss efforts and monitor my efforts. I get it that the insurance company wants to make sure I am serious but good grief I have dieted for years and tried four different diets under a doctors supervision including one last year. But I didn't see my doctor consistently so I have to do the 6 months.
I just want to be able to move without pain and stop getting so tired with little effort. I want to no longer carry this extra weight around on my heart, my knees, my back, my feet. I am hoping Bariatric Pal will provide me with resources and an ability to network with others who have been there and now are making their way to a successful healthy lifestyle.
