All Pre-op requirements are done
Walt99 replied to Lisa00's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Call them, leave a message then call again the next day! It worked for me! The squeaky wheel get's the grease! By law (in California at least) they have 72 hours to approve or deny a claim. If it takes longer then this then doctors office may have not placed the request for the surgery. -
Telling people about surgery... Advice needed
Walt99 replied to takefeline's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I just have told everyone, it will be very hard to hide the rapid weight loss or the fact that suddenly you aren't eating like you used too. Some people say 'good for you', while others think I'm crazy and should lose the weight naturally. But in the end it's my choice! Good luck! -
What is the 1st step when thinking of getting sleeved
Walt99 replied to Megan00's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Both for me... I had to go see a psychiatrist, a nutritionist, and my surgeon twice. Then I had to see my primary twice, did blood work 3 times and even had to go see a cardiologist! -

I too called my insurance company to see if it was covered (it was, obviously). It's been about a 4-5 month process from first consultation to surgery on Feb 25th. It really helped to speak to someone who has had the procedure, you will find all sorts of opinions from people. I think it's like anything, the more effort you put into the results the more you'll get out. -
GREAT question! I work for a Wine and Spirits company and drinking is always on the menu! My doctor says to wait at least 12 weeks, and go slow... I guess our tolerance goes all to hell! 2 weeks and 1 day till surgery!!!

Hey Ready, I too have been trying 'to be good' before my surgery, but like you I've found myself going a little overboard every now and then. The friend who got me into this surgery has told me the same thing as the other poster, binging is all but impossible, and better yet, the surgery really curbed her appetite! Good luck my friend!

I'm having the Gastric Sleeve procedure on Feb 25th. I have not been given a pre surgery diet except for Clear liquids 24 hrs before and nothing after midnight. My last meal is going to be Chinese food I think! I wonder if the won ton Soup broth is ok after the surgery? Hmmmm!
