Did anyone NOT tell their job about surgery?
XForeverYoursX replied to VGB's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't told work (although my one manager knows i was considering it because we talk about weight issues) i'm not sure if i'll tell. maybe since i'll be doing my pre-op diet at work and we're all really close. was hoping to wait until after the surgery to let everyone know so i don't hear opinions but not sure. -

I still haven't has my surgery yet but I was reading about the puréed stage and I'm officially freaked out. I can definitely do like baby food but fruits. The thought of meat puréed literally makes Me want to puke. How can I do this stage, get all of the nutrients I need, and not puke lol thanks for any help

Hey guys, I'm still in the beginning stages of this journey (I hope it's ok I jumped over here and am asking this question) I keep going back and forth whether or not this is the right decision for me. I am almost 100% positive it is, but in the back of my head, I wonder if I'll regret this decision. I know that my love for food got me to where I am today but I whimper at the thought of going on vacation and not being able to eat "good" (fat!) I'm also scared because I know there's a high divorce rate after the surgery and I already resent my husband at times when I'm on diets and he's eating pizza or god knows what else. Any advice? Has ANYONE regretted their decision to get the surgery? Thanks guys!

Has anyone experienced this? I'm pretty sure we'll have another baby but not soon at all. Was wondering if the pregnancy was high risk? Did you have to do anything differently? Did you have a natural childbirth? Thanks guys!! -
I would love info on dr jawad as well! I live in the Orlando/Windermere area and in the beginning stages. Thanks!

Does anyone regret it?
XForeverYoursX replied to XForeverYoursX's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My relationship with my husband isn't great right now but we go through spurts like this often where it's great and then really bad. I was actually pretty thin when I met him 12 years ago (135lbs) and then gained all of my weight after we started dating (cw 206) we went out to eat a lot and I was super comfortable. I asked him if he thinks I should get the surgery and he said if it'll make me happy, then do it but only if I'm ready for the lifestyle change. I'm hoping our marriage will make it through but I also don't want to not get the surgery out of fear. If it won't survive a surgery, then it wasn't worth surviving me being fat either. -
co-morbidities?
XForeverYoursX replied to XForeverYoursX's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
it's so silly that you have to be 40 but over 35 is severely obese. I'm in that situation where i'm about 7-10lbs too "small" to hit 40 but i'm pre-diabetic and i shouldn't be gaining anymore weight either. it sucks!! -

dress the way I always wanted and dreamed of. I dress to cover my body and it's not my style at all but if i don't want to see it, no one else should -
Does anyone regret it?

holy moly Jane, you look incredible!! You truly are an inspiration!! Thank you all for the responses. I pretty much knew deep down that no one would regret this decision and it makes me more confident with going on. Thanks again!! -
I wasn't trying to lose weight for like 2 months and my BMI went to 39 (I was interested in the surgery and knew for my insurance to approve it, I have to be a BMI of 40) when I went for a physical, my doctor was trying to convince me that surgery isn't the answer and when my results came back, i am JUST under being pre-diabetic. I think my levels were 5.9 and pre-diabetic is 6.0 She put me on a weight loss pill and I lost about 6 pounds but in my head still, I want the surgery. I've been trying to lose weight for about 2 months and have only lost 6 pounds and have struggled with my weight for about 11 years. What made you guys say the surgery was the right thing for you? I'm afraid if I allow myself to gain more weight, than I really will become a pre-diabetic. Any advice? If it helps, I'm 5'2 and 206lbs.

Hi guys, I'm in the beginning stages of looking into the lap band surgery. I've struggled with weight loss for the past 11 years, typical yo yo dieting. nothing has worked for the long haul. I was wondering what are the beginning stages of this surgery? how do you go about finding a reputable surgeon? I just moved to Florida and still don't even have a regular physician. has anyone had it done with a BMI of 38? I'm getting 2 different numbers, one website says it's 38 the other says 36.3 thank you so much guys!
