About Me
Growing up in a typical southern family, I never learned proper nutrition or the value of physical activity. I labored under the delusion that it is not "lady-like" to sweat or be athletic. I envy the strong women of the world who are involved in sports and fitness. How I wish I had been exposed to a different way of thinking. But I cannot dwell on the things that should have or could have been different.
Now, as a working adult, I am trying to learn the fundamentals of health and wellness, while balancing school, work and family, as well as whatever else gets hurled at me.
These are new challenges for me and I find myself in a power struggle between what I have always done and what I should be doing.
I am trying to get on the right track and stay motivated, but it is a very difficult journey for me, both physically and emotionally. Still, I know I must do this for me and though it may be difficult, I am worth it!
