Eating around the sleeve
tnpeach replied to Unhappysleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Why would anyone want to eat around the sleeve? It was so hard to get approved and wanting to lose weight, way why would you want to sabotage it. I have never really understood this. Especially if you really wanted this surgary and pain after to work. Sorry I needed to vent. -
Looking forward to time off after surgery
tnpeach replied to thesuse2000's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
From what I understand my Dr says 2 weeks. I really would like to have 3. Reason - - - so I am really feeling well and have my Protein and Water on a schedule. My job is not physical but very stressful. I am afraid I will not get all of my eating and drinking in.. Bottom line I am going to do whatever it takes. -
Sleep Apnea Evaluation - Unexpected Requirement
tnpeach replied to SnohoGal98296's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Is it going to have to go back for a second sleep study. I have my sleep study in April and went back to the pulmonologist for the results they said I was breathing shallow I think 34 times than hour. Now they are sending me back for another sleep study I am thinking to get the settings for a CPAC. I am so frustrated why didn't they do this when I was having the original test to begin with and this was in a Center not a home study. I just about field that there just after more money and wasting time. This is the last clearance I need and it seems like it's taking forever. Thanks I am curious to see if anyone else has had this issue. And I needed to vent thanks. -
Take a deep breath, It is really not that bad. When I had mine I sat and talked to her for about 45 min. Then I took a questionnaire. There are no right or wrong answers or so they say..Don't worry about this part.

My psych apt was 3 hours long. One hour with psych and 2 hours answering 1 test of 568 questions and 1 test that had 189 questions. Some of the questions were funny. I have to go back for results next week. She already told me she did not see a problem. I guess I will find out late next week. I would not worry about it.

I got a message from her a day or two ago,. She said it was pretty rough, Major problems with nausea. Both were having a hard time.

I had done the same thing. I put it all down. The DR was impressed that I had tried numerous times. (so I could stick to a plan) but I needed an extra tool to be successful.

You have been in my thoughts and prayers. Was it worse than you thought? Are you and your daughter in the same room? You are in our thoughts. Hang in there.

Want to cheat so bad!
tnpeach replied to cammie8825's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You have come to far to cheat now. Don't do it. You do not want to mess up your surgery. You can do this You can do this. -
I had my psych apt today. It took right at 3 hours., 1 hour was talking to the psych and 2 hours taking a test. Talking was mostly about family friends, support systems, what do you do when you are depressed, unhappy, etc. I guess how do you cope with things. I had 2 test one had 187 questions and the other had 586 questions. All were true and false. No wrong answers or so she said. I guess I will know the outcome in 2 weeks. I am not too concerned.

When I had those questions, I called and talked to the insurance company to get the full scoop. I want no surprises. I am not a teacher but just call BCBS and they should give you your info on your policy. Good Luck

I am really not nervous but maybe I should be (lol) She scheduled me for everything the computer test and her evaluation at one time. I guess that is why she is saying it should take about 3 hours. Hopefully I will know if I am approved tomorrow. Then I have a sleep study on 4/28. Hopefully after that they should be able to apply for insurance. More info to follow.

I go for my Psychologist appointment in the morning. I will post info on this when I return.

tnpeach replied to CurvyCakes's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am so happy for you. Best wishes coming your way. I am jealous. (my turn will come if I ever get all of my clearances done) I will be following your progress. We are about the same weight, etc. Hang in there. -
Since my appt was first thing in the morning. I did fast just in case they could do the blood at that time. My thought was try to get one thing off my list of things to do,. lol

My first visit was a little over 4 hours. I had Labs drawn (17 vials), I saw the NUT and the Nurse that coordenates everything. I have to have clearances from Pulmonary, Cardiac, Medical (PCP) and Psychology. Then there are more test, upper GI, EKG, Chest Xray. Now the Pulmonary will not sign off without sleep study. Once all of these come back they will then schedule (if I qualify) for surgary. Nothing is fast.

I am in Villa Rica seeing Dr Dennis Smith in Marietta. I am still in the process. I am still in the Clearance mode. Why does everything take longer than you expect it to?

How do you focus on goals when you're grieving
tnpeach replied to LynRN's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am so sorry. I lost both Mom and Dad a year apart about 1 1/.2 years ago. Remember to take deep breaths. You may need to make yourself eat and drink. Prayers are coming your way for you and your family. -
Hang in there. I am still in the process getting clearances. I hope to have sleeve done in May or early June. I have really enjoyed all of your post. This time will go fast. You can do it.

Crazy Dad! Dont he know Im almost 40?
tnpeach replied to HeatherSchwartz's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I told my brother this week. He is concerned that it is so drastic and can not be reversed. (sleeve) I sent him this site and the Dr website to check out. He called yesterday to talk about it. At least he is really taking an interest in the procedure and not judging or giving negative input. (that is at the moment) lol. I only see him once or twice a year. One of his questions (which is a good one) How much does it normally run on all of the vitamins you have to take for the month? I am still in the process of getting all of my testing. -
You look great
