Tomorrow is the big day!
tnpeach replied to GingerSlim's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will do great. It was near as bad as I thought it would be. Just remember to walk. My Dr had me pumped with nausea meds, gas meds and pain meds. I was actually great by the 2nd or 3rd day. Remember this is the easy part. -
Day 3 since my sleeve surgery
tnpeach replied to beyondependent's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do not worry about the weight. When I came home from the hospital I weighed and I had gained 10 pounds. It is from the fluid they give you while in the hospital. Yes I did have loose stool also. Just keep a watch on that so you do not get dehydrated. You will be fine hang in there. Best of luck to you. -
Fantastic.

When Does Fatigue & Weakness Go Away?
tnpeach replied to BDM's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will be three weeks out tomorrow. I went back to work yesterday and I have a desk job. I am exhausted as well. I have gotten to where I take a nap at lunch to be able to make it through the next four hours. I did hear that it does take a while for the strengthening energy to come back. I do a walk in the morning due to the fact that it's too hot during the day. Hang in there I hear it does get better. -
I was able to drive three days after the pain pills were out of my system. That is about four or five days after surgery.

just need a quick opinion on this loss...
tnpeach replied to mi75's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
June 18 was surgery. When I got home from the hospital I had gained 10 lbs. It took almost a week for me to lose that. (Water weight). I would not be so worried. Just do what you are suppose to do. It will happen. -
Well I had the follow up apt today. Incisions look good. Lost 9 lbs from surgery date. Yippee.. He also did a liver biopsy and I got the results. fyi - If I had not had this procedure I would not know this info., Liver Biopsy Incipient cirrhosis Marked Macrovesicular Steatosis Hopefully the surgery will turn things around. I know I am going in the right direction. I am surprised on how I feel about food at the moment. I am having to set an alarm to tell myself to go get food (pureed) I will be on pureed food for 2 more weeks then to soft food.

Same here. I am going to start my weight on the day of surgery. I also gained 10 or 11 lbs when I got home from the hospital. It is too early to say if we will be a fast or slow loser. I just want to be a loser...........

I had surgery on June 18. I had to have a pick line. My Dr recommends them. This was the best I did not have to worry about them finding a vein (I am always a hard stick). In recovery I found out that I had a hiatal hernia. This was fixed. I had gallbladder surgery back in 1972. There was a ton of scar tissue that had to be cleaned out. My stomach was stuck to everything, liver everything it touched. They did do a biopsy on the liver and have not heard about this yet. I did not have gas in my shoulder so I am really lucky with that. (I think I would have had it by now if I was going to) I ended up staying 2 nights due to the pain. I did not realize that when Water hit my stomach it was going to feel like a fire poker. They order a Magic Mouthwash best thing ever. It has Benadryl, Maalox, and some numbing meds. once you swallow it numbs everything down to your stomach,. This allowed me to drink without the pain. I have not taken the pain meds for 2 days (More uncomfortable than anything) The problem is I had no idea it would be so hard to get the water in. I always drank lots of water. As for eating.. lol who would have ever thought I would have a hard time eating. It is like you are forcing yourself to eat and drink. I realize this will all get better in time. It has not been a week as of yet. One more thing, I did not realize how tired and weak I would be. I was going to take a drink during every commercial but I can not make it thru an hour show without falling asleep. I know it is just time. I am on liquids for another 2 weeks then to soft for 3 weeks the regular food. Come on I want to move past this phase.

Surgery was June 18 My thoughts
tnpeach replied to tnpeach's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The other thing I wanted to let you all know. Do not weigh yourself when you get home from the hospital. I gained 9 lbs. They say it is due to the fluids while I was in the hospital. It was a bit shocking. Yes I am still working on liquids. I see the dr on Fri for a follow up. -
The time has finally come. The big day it in the AM
tnpeach posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Since Feb I have been having all of the testing and Dr visits. Found out I have sleep Apnea (that was a shock). The end of Pre op is hours away. I will be on the Post side tomorrow. It is amazing how long it seems when you are in the beginning of the process. Then before you can turn around Surgery is scheduled and time is flying. I have had several people ask me over and over again if I was sure I wanted to go thru with this drastic surgery. I explain my reasons then they say they will support me in all of my decisions. I guess they just wanted to make sure I really wanted to do this. My brothers are having are hard time with it,. I think the main thing they are just worried about surgery. (We lost Mom and Dad within a year and a half from each other. This was just a few years ago.) I know they love me and are just worried. I have only been on liquids for 2 days I am not sure I could have done the 3 or 4 weeks of prep op that some of you do. They are putting in a Pick line in around 9 and surgery will be an hour or 2 later. I am so glad I found this site. I feel like I have heard of all kinds of problems to look for,. Gas, Nausea, Constipation and other things. I really do not think there will be any surprises after surgery. I am excited, nervous, scared (I am starting a whole new life with my sleeve) All will be great. I will send an update from the other side (lol) Good Luck everyone. Keep up the great work. TNpeach -

I will have it removed before I leave the hospital. They want to make sure they do not have to stick me and have a hard time finding a vein,. This way they can take blood give meds all from one place. I am getting ready to head out. I live in GA but home is TN Nashville. Have a great day everyone. -
From what I understand as long as you can see thru it, It is clear liquid.
-
I am only on 2 days of liquids. 1day not lumps or chunks and the second is clear liquid. I was told that was t have a empty stomach. Then surgery.

My nut told me I could count 1/2 of the amount of the Protein toward Water. -
If I did not know better you were in my mind. The only thing is I did not have to wait for the insurance approval. My last clearance was for the Pulmonologist. I found out I had sleep apnea and had to go back for a saturation study. My surgeon's office took the diagnosis and prior to lung clearance and sent to insurance. I had a call from Dr office saying it had been approved. I did not even know they had sent it the insurance co (United). My date is June 18. I am feeling everything you said. I did get my clearance. Now it feels everything is moving in fast motion. I am so ready for a positive change and feeling better health wise is a major plus. This is the best thing.
