2cc filll and I don't feel restricted...
want2beme replied to augbander07's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hmmm... good question. I am 4 weeks post op and have little restriction. I am afraid of the same thing. Please help me too! -
Thanks Wendell. i"m glad I am almost at my one month celebration. I am sure I will feel great by this point. So far, so good. I do feel like I have little restriction. I am eating bigger bites than I thought I'd be able to eat too. I may go in for a fill at 6 weeks. Plus, I haven't lost any weight in a week.

Here is the truth about the band
want2beme replied to alysedg23's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In accordance with all bariatric recommendations and guidelines for weight loss surgery, all potential patients are required to have a psychiatric evaluation prior to surgery. This may be completed by a psychologist or psychiatrist. Generally, the evaluation takes about 1 hour to complete. The evaluation is used to: Assist in the diagnosis, treatment, or management of a patient's possible mental disorder or behavioral problem. Determine competency in deciding to proceed with LapBand® surgery. Determine if there is a history or dependency on drugs or alcohol. Determine if there is a history of psychiatric illness. Demonstrate the willingness of the psychologist/psychiatrist to follow and treat the patient in the postoperative period if it becomes necessary. Determine the patient's ability to handle stress during the period that follows surgery. Determine the patient's commitment/willingness to follow postoperative protocols. -

Creative Vegetables ` Veggies
want2beme replied to want2beme's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I don't know! I think I can have anything really. But, I have been eating cooked, soft veggies. I heard that one should not eat raw fruits or veggies for a while, so I haven't. I really don't know what the limitations are. ??? -

OMG. Have we come to this? I read through the posts AGAIN, just to make sure I wasn't missing something. Nope, I sure wasn't. Everybody seemed to be honest with THEIR experience, for there wouldn't be a reason to be dishonest. I think some people have OVER ANALYSIS PARALYSIS. Just let it be. -

6 days post op. Pain/lump below port incision?
want2beme replied to LMJLMJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah, I have the same thing. I think it's scar tissue, but not sure. It's only on that one incision to the far far left. Weird. The other incisions don't have much scar tissue if any at all. I think it's normal. How's your doctor in Reno? I'm in sacramento and still looking for a fill doctor. Reno's only a 3 hour drive. -
Well, even though I'm fat, I still get laid once in a while! haha... BUT, it's been a LOOONNNNGGGGGGGG time. About 6 months. I feel the same way. If I don't like looking at me, why would I expect anybody else to? Gross! Funny thing, with every pound lost, there's an increase on the horney meter! Weird huh! Just had to throw that in there!!!! lol

My doctor said no carbonation at all. Even if you can 'handle it'. It can cause erosion and expand your stomach. Too many possible problems. That's just my doctor. A lot of people say it's just fine and have had not problem with it. I drink wine with no problem. I haven't tried vodka or anything yet, but I'm going to. Don't see any problem with anything not carbonated. However, 1/2 glass of wine gets me smashed now! yippi! I'm such a cheap date now!

Post-op: How long until you progressed to solid food?
want2beme replied to Constance's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Week One: Clear Liquids Week Two: Non Clear Liquids Week Three: Mushies, Eggs and Cheese Week Four: Solid Food (experimenting of course) -
UCD huh? I have heard of the doc in San Jose before. Sounds good. Also found one in Roseville, CA. My doctor, Lopez did the first Lap Band at UCD! He is a protor for INAMED. Yeah, I know a lot of people here had Dr. Machado, but I wouldn't. sorry!
-
Hi there. I was banded in Mexico and had a great experience. I'd love to go back to have my fills, but I'm just trying to save a day of travel, so I've been seeking a doc in the Sacramento, CA area. I found Dr. Machado. She works at Mercy Medical, and she owns an Obesity Control Center as well. I went to her seminar last night (required for any person wanting to become a pt). She was so unprofessional, I wanted to puke! First off, if anybody mentioned ANY other doctor, she put the doctor down. I over heard her speaking to a future client/pt about the dietitians at the hospital and she drug their names through the mud. I was in shock. When I approached her at the end of the meeting to speak with her about becoming a patient, she was open minded to let me join, but had nothing by horrible things to say about my band. 1) She said she had never heard of my doctor, who is a proctor for INAMED. 2) She asked what band I had and she rolled her eyes and said, "OMG! I can't believe they put that thing in you! There's a much better product out there now. You know why they put that in you? Because they were trying to get rid of them. You know, depleating their inventory to save money!" 3) "I'll have to do an upper GI to see where they put your band, who knows if they even did it right." Then I asked if she did Flouro when she did her fills. She said, "No, you don't need to do that. It's a waste of time. I just do it out of my office." AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Stay the hell away from her! I know I am now going back to Mexico where they treat the band like gold! THX, Dana

BUT, I knew it was only 10 pounds off, and always 10 pounds off. When it said 225, my doctor's scale said 235. When I got home from surgery, I went to Wally World (Walmart) and bought a digital scale ($25.00). I am very disapointed. Everytime I step on the darn thing, it reads a different number. At 3 1/2 weeks post op, I'd really like to know exactly what my weight loss is. I don't care about the number due to obsessive reasons (those days are over), but I want to know especially because I am trying to gage if I need a fill or not. Does anybody have any ideas on what scale to buy? Which ones are the most accurate? Thanks! </TD></TR><TR UNSELECTABLE="on" hb_tag="1"><TD style="FONT-SIZE: 1pt" height=1 UNSELECTABLE="on"> </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

Thanks a lot. As soon as I'm not sick, I'm getting on the road with the jogging stroller!

I have no problem eating any of those ingredients. However, jelly is not on the approved list of foods. It's high in calories and you'll be eating much more protein than that.

It's me again! HI! I am 3 1/2 weeks post op. No more port pain... BUT, last night I was sleeping on my tummy and I stretched the wrong way and BOOB! It happened again!
