December 2013 Sleever Pounds Lost Log
sweetcheeks14 replied to RunningA5K's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
What are you doing daily to obtain weight loss? -
My surgery date is Tuesday and authorized through my insurance today! It was looking sketchy because my clearance was not completed yet. Been had my surgery date all month even though not authorized through insurance yet. Last weekend of pre-op! This is the happiest Friday ever! Making room on the losers bench!

I was sleeved 2/25/14, but unfortunately my experience I was in a great deal of pain yesterday, I had pain medicine and nausea like clock work....lol My night nurse was excellent, but I can't say the same for my day nurse, she was a real pain. I have extreme nausea and can't keep my liquids down, my doctor says it is normal. I hope this vomiting and soreness stops soon :-(

$600 Bariatric Program Fee
sweetcheeks14 replied to CurvyCakes's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Curvy, I posted about my fee a couple of weeks ago. I'm in Florida and the surgeon is charging $600... Personally I agree that it is an immediate way to secure non-refundable cash. This "Program Fee," covers 30 days of Vitamins, concierge services (like I can't book my own hotel room), access to a multidisciplinary team (but in actuality doesn't include mandatory nutritional counseling, or the psych eval, just the post-op Nut visit), support group (I live three hours away and think paying for an online support group is ridiculous) and educational material (guess they've forgotten about the internet). I'm disgusted at this point because the offerings in Florida are slim if I go thru insurance (UHC) due to the requirements of the Bariatric Resource Program purchased by my employer. I'm seriously considering Mexico at this point. Ally What part of florida are you in, I'm in miami, my program feed was $240. -

$600 Bariatric Program Fee
sweetcheeks14 replied to CurvyCakes's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My program did not require a fee but my insurance did not cover the psychiatrist and nutritionist and the fee for both of them was $240 and I will see the nutritionist for a year and the psych eval was only one visit. -
My surgery is Tuesday I am the first one scheduled!

Did anyone Not lose weight during pre-op
sweetcheeks14 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm doing my pre-op and I'm wondering if anyone didn't lose weight during pre-op and still had their surgery? -
Thank You...I knew I could find encouragement too which is why I posted.

Everything has been smooth until now! :-( My lab results came back and were elevated, so I rushed back in this morning to do lab again. My surgeon has not received my clearance yet due to my labs. My psych and dietician are both cleared. I'm scheduled for surgery Tuesday and have been on my pre-op diet for a week in a half. Fingers crossed that my labs come back today or at the latest tomorrow morning and I'm still able to submit in time for my surgery to be authorized! I completely know how people feel with obstacles arrive through this process. I hate to have started the pre-op and have to do it again. Premier Protein shakes aren't expensive, but the quantity that is required adds up, I'm a full-time college student getting my masters and Spanish classes. In all patience is a virtue...

Thank you darlin! I think for me it has been patience, perseverance and determination. It's a lifestyle change for sure. Being loving and kind to myself. Accepting the stalls and being creative to trick my body into losing again. How much weight have you loss? -
