Sharp pain at wound site - 3 weeks post
AmyV posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The pain on my left side at the upper incision is now at the point that I'm unable to sit up or bend without cringing in pain. It even hurts when I apply pressure to urinate. I saw physicians assistant on Friday and they said it's just the healing process of the muscle and wound where the stomach was pulled out and I may have re-injured it. But this is becoming steady enough that I'm needing help to do simple things, and I'm 3 weeks out Wednesday. Anyone else experience this? Trying to decide if I call dr office back and get "brushed off" or take more urgent action by going to ER?? -

I am getting between 800-1000 a day. Usually have protein shake for breakfast and then string cheese for snack, been eating the P3 by Oscar Meyers a lot, then a Syntrax lemon tea protein drink in afternoon. BUT in between I've been snacking on the small slim jims. I NEVER liked them before but now I can't get enough. Although they have good amount of protein the fat and calories add up.

I'm nervous about hungry I've been lately. I'll have a protein shake for breakfast and need more to go with that now. Wasn't like that earlier on. Curious if anyone is experiencing greater hunger, slower weight loss

Ladies and gentleman, If you like cinnamon buns than you just try Bariatric Fusions Cinnamon Bun proven shake!!! (http://bariatricfusion.com/meal-replacement-single-serving-packet-cinnamon-bun.html). I can't believe how good it is!! My only concern is that I haven't found it in a tub yet, only single serve packages. The hunt continues!!

Oh good!! I just can't navigate to that area on my phone!!! I'll do it tonight from a computer!! Thanks!!!

Yes, my hair has started falling out. I read it would happen but now that it is I'm freaking out just a little. I have thick hair and am starting to feel and see the difference.

I saw my dr on Friday for a 3 month check up. I've lost 42 lbs. I have 40 to go. I told him I was slowing down on loss and he gave me a sweet smile and said "Really? So 42 lbs in 12 weeks just isn't fast enough!?" He's right when we all step back and think about life before the sleeve. A pound a week is STILL better than before my surgery! Am I still looking at lower numbers on the scale? Heck yeah!!! Please don't get discouraged. One day you'll wake up and all the extra work will have paid off and you're going to dance around and celebrate till those too lose of pants fall right off your skinny hips!!! Here's wishing you continued success and much happiness!!!!

11 weeks today and 40 lbs gone. BUT today I have eaten NON-STOP!!! Like I've had the munchies. It isn't my time of the month or anything. I haven't eaten "bad" stuff. Protein shake, jerky, chicken, black beans, tuna, pistachios....anyone else experience this????

Because I'm happy, clap along if you feel like a room w/o a roof.

My stall started April 19th and I weighed every day for 5 days and watched it bounce back and forth between one pound. Then I didn't get on the scale again because all the irritation was building up and making me want to eat unhealthy. Today I decided was the day to see if the stall was over. Imagine my happy surprise to see 5 lbs gone!!! What a great relief!! I love how my stupid fat brain said "only 5 lbs in 3 weeks, jeez that's not much!".....hello that's better than no pounds or gaining like I used too! Losing fast the first 6 weeks put me in a mode that that was going to just keep up. It's not. That's okay. I'm still healthier. I cannot believe how fast I went up stairs yesterday along with so many other non scale victories! If my final goal weight is still a year away SO BE IT!! I'm doing this and I'm thrilled. Oh and the best part is with those 5 lbs gone I reached goal #2......40 lbs of me is missing!!! Look for it on milk cartons across the nation!!!! Haha Don't let the stall beat you up. You are all doing amazing!!!! -

There's always "I had WLS so I could live a longer healthier life and watch "friends" such as you become the jealous vindictive bitches; didn't realize it would be happening so fast."

I'm 6.5 weeks out. Went shopping with my mom and went up to the plus size section and she said "you can't wear that stuff anymore." I assured her I could. She told me I need to check the regular women's clothing- I still feel weird shopping there. Looked at an XL jean jacket and thought There's no way that's gonna fit...but it did! It's crazy! I look in a mirror and ask my mom- is that what I really look like or is the mirror distorted? I've lost about 50lbs but don't believe it yet in my head. Congratulations!! What a great feeling!!! We've spent so long thinking of and feeling one way about ourselves that it is difficult to think or feel any other way! But slowly it is happening and it is awesome!!!

Here comes the sleeve
AmyV replied to SleevedMoonGurl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I (along with 90% of everyone on here) went through the same thoughts! It's normal and healthy to be concerned about any sort of surgery. But what you have decided to do for yourself is amazing and I doubt you'll have one regret. I'm almost 5 weeks post op and can't believe I didn't do this years ago!!! Warm thoughts and prayers being sent to you out here in SoCal!!! -
Looking for 22/24 18/20 clothes
AmyV replied to DaniMarcotte's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I've started going through clothes and am still wearing my 18/20 but I've marked this so I can keep you posted. I'd only need postage. -
I'm usually a 28-dayer but am 2 weeks late. Post op 4 weeks and down 28 pounds. Anyone else experience change in Aunt Flo's visit after surgery? I wonder if it's from all the drugs or the rapid weight loss? All I know is my hormones are raging!!!

How long to recoup after surgery?
AmyV replied to mommyjamie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I worked from home starting 4 days after surgery and that was a huge mistake. I wasn't getting up from the desk often enough and the healing of the muscle and flesh at the larger incision ended up healing too tight. I ended up having to re-tear the healed area so it wasn't so tight. (Hard to explain) Went back to the office after 3.5 weeks op but have a timer set on my computer so I get up ever 15 minutes and walk. Pain was miserable but I could have prevented by being more conscious at home.
