  1. It's really happening! Been researching and talking about this for 2 years. Here it goes!!!!
  2. I will SF Popsicles a try. Last night I was able to eat the Chicken soup from Unjury (not the entire packet) and this morning I had three spoonfuls of malt o meal with unflavored protein added. Hard to believe how full I am after there spoonfuls. Oh and I'm 10lbs down since Wednesday.....WOW
  3. Jello, pudding, custard. Those don't sit well right now. Sticking to juices, milk and water.
  4. Everything is going pretty well. Keeping fluids down has been no problem but can't seem to tolerate food.
  5. I'm still in hospital having a hard time with pain management though and still trying to figure out the sipping.
  6. Surgery was a success and they had to fix a hernia no one knew about also. I'm on morphine but don't think I'll need it much
  7. In pre-op, IV in and just waiting for this journey to get started!!
  8. Thanks everyone!!! I'll keep you posted. And best of luck to my fellow sleevies join me tomorrow!!!
  9. So this is it my last weekend with a huge stomach is coming to an end. So excited and nervous. Got all my liquid diet foods today.
  10. My sleeve date approaches quickly!! I've been on hear reading and noting things to do, not to do, things to eat. I'm most nervous about understanding my new routine, but I know it will all come together. Can't thank everyone on her enough for sharing your stories. They've helped me so much!!!

    I am sleeved!

Congratulations! Love hearing the positive stories and your outlook. My surgery is on the 26th. I'm excited and nervous but can't wait either!!! Best of wishes to you!!!
  13. Well my surgery date is now close enough to be in the 10 day weather forecast!! How exciting and terrifying at the same time. Starting my surgeon recommended pre-op diet today, and I've started to stick up on the recommended Protein shakes etc. I'm curious if there was anything you purchased or did to make the hospital stay and first few weeks of post op easier on you? Or now that you look back is there something you wish you'd done for yourself? Since this surgery is "all about me" I'm taking advantage of any extra special things I can!!!
  14. I'm a week away from surgery and when I finally decided to go for it I told my husband who says he loves me "just the way I am". I'm not doing this for looks, I'm doing this for my health. I've mentioned it to my parents who seem unphased by my decision. A few coworkers know because of having to prepare for the time off. And I've told my two best friends; funny, my overweight friend was negative about it; my skinny friend is ready to take me shopping and to the beach and not have me hiding under a towel!!! But honestly my struggle has been with the lack of support. I'm a people person and need to bounce ideas, concerns off someone; for this decision I haven't found anyone. Reading on this forum has given me the ability to keep on my journey and know that although I'm nervous this is the best decision for ME. Thank you for sharing your stories.
  15. I'm 39 year old and have one 15 year old son and have been thinking about doing this surgery for at least two years. Both my parents are type 1 diabetic with high blood pressure and heart problems too. I refuse to be in the same boat in 20 years! I'm scheduled for surgery two weeks from tomorrow!!!
