Thanks for that! Today is day 3 of clear liquids-I'm actually getting hungry. Looking forward to my protein shake tomorrow!

    June sleevers, check-in!

I'd like to know that too. My left side is extremely sore-when I lay down, I'm worried I'm going to tear something.

Could I please get your recipe for crab bisque? Thanks!
  4. My dr told me to get milk of magnesia is needed.
  5. It sure is true what everyone says about your taste changing after surgery. My favorites, popsicles are way too sweet and tart and broth is too salty. Thank goodness for Sonic ice! I'm looking forward to protein shakes tomorrow ( never thought I'd hear myself say that)

  7. What's happening with Facebook?
  8. Livingmore-I have the same thing. Every time I sip water it just sits at the bottom of my esophagus and it makes me burp. I'm really sore today. I know it will get better, but I'm already tired of sitting around and hurting. Took the dog for a walk this morning. How long foes it take the surgery soreness to heal ( not the incisions, but the stomach.
  9. hI-I had surgery yesterday. Sleeve and a small hiatal hernia. I noticed today that when I sip water, it feels like it's just sitting at the bottom of my esophagus. I feel like this should resolve when the swelling comes Dow, but sure would appreciate hearing from those who had this issue and how long it took to go away. Other than that I have no nausea and pain in incisions is minimal (although the left side is the worst). Thanks everyone!

    June 30th Surgery Date

Low energy today. Did some walking and took two naps. Also caught up on some work emails. I know it will get better each day. Right now, my biggest concern is how long that tight feeling ion my esophagus will last. I have to go to a " first bite" class with the NUT and another class with the psychologist. My dr also has a monthly support class. I'll probably attend that until I get the hang of this. I have a business meeting next wed and my follow visit with the dr on thurs. I'm planning on driving to both.

I had the sleeve. He gave me liquid Vicodin for home. I just had my first swig and it tastes like crap (even holding my nose). My incisions have a ball attached (some kind of lidocaine that helps with incision soreness. I'll pull that out myself tomorrow. Stay in touch!

I'm not nauseated, but every time I take a sip of Water, it feels like it's sitting at the bottom of my esophagus. Dr. says it's because of the stitches in the hiatal hernia. Sure hope that goes away -I'm a little concerned about getting water in ( and Protein starting tomorrow). He also told me to get some milk of magnesia if I get constipated from the anesthia.

I was home in less than 24 hrs. Nothing hurts when sitting or lying still, but getting up is tough-I'm very sore on the left side. I just took a swig of liquid Vicodin and that really tasted like cr. I need to pull out my paperwork. Really can't imagine doing anything other than sipping water today and sleeping. Today is the first of 2 days on clear liquids then onto "full". I walked quite a bit at the hospital but it's too hot out right now. Will walk more later. Take care July 1's. July2nd peeps-good luck!
  15. How does your therapist suggest you keep from giving into head hunger?
  16. I do spinning and Pilates now, but I really want to do yoga.
  17. I know this probably sounds weird, but do you remove your underwear for this surgery usually? Thinking about clothes, grooming, etc.

    Weird Surgery Question

I specifically asked my Dr about a catheter and he said they don't typically use them-keeping my fingers crossed on that one!

    The reason I am obese

Losing weight was easy. Keeping it off, not so much. I hope the sleeve will help me accomplish that part more successfully. Surgery is day after tomorrow-can't wait to start the journey with you all.

Mine is Monday. It was at 9am and got a call last night pushing it to 11:30. I get why it might be bumped earlier, but why later? Good for hubby to sleep in, bad for me (thirst and nerves). Although, I can't wait-I'm not really nervous. Day after tomorrow-wow! I'm trying to think what I need to buy from the store today.
  22. did you take your measurements before surgery?
  23. Fat_Free that's great. Did you have cravings during your pre-op diet? I hope so because I sure do and I'm hoping they go away after surgery on Monday. I'm so over these pre-op shakes!
