I knew better but...
Shell88 replied to MrsMurky721's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
food funerals! I love that term lol. But yes, I have had a few days of them - hence why tonight was baked tilapia and catfish night.... I can't just wait until pre-op liquid diet to start to eat healthy again. -
@@Elode the fuzzy navel wasn't bad - was more like the peach mango drinks I like. All Protein powders have that initial odd taste and smell to them until a few sips in and you get used to it. Didn't like the nectar cherry.... The Bariatric Advantage Iced coffee was definitely hard to get down. But if you like vanilla ice cream, Nectar Vanilla Bean Torte with fat free milk and ice in a blender is amazing! I did not think about popsicles though.... good call!! I think I will definitely try that!

hmmmm @@Elode I may just wait for that post surgery lol.... I have a massive amount of Protein powders too..... I did my sample buying a few weeks ago from Nashua online.... I wanted to try it all! lol

Shell88 replied to Genie77's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My job is expecting me to be out for 5, doctor told me at least 2, but I see him tomorrow and I'll see how long he'll give me - work handed me disability papers and said don't come back too soon lol -

How does this work? Am I only supposed to have a certain amount of things or is it unlimited because it's all technically 5 calories lol

How Much Did You Lose Before People Noticed?
Shell88 replied to mnmlst's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm still pre-op but I've lost about 24 lbs since I started my job at the end of July. My HR/accounting person noticed the second I dropped 20lbs and said I was looking good. My dad for some reason is the only one who was ever fully observatory about my weight changes. He keeps telling me I'm doing great and to keep going, you can tell. The differences I have noticed aren't really the weight change or even how I look physically, but I have that my clothes are starting to get looser. The new slacks I bought for work are now massive on me, my jeans don't need to be put on with me lying on the bed shimmying up the zipper, and this black dress I wore to the funeral the other day didn't show all the rolls it used to. And this is all pre-op! Can't wait for surgery!!!! -
Protein powder help
Shell88 replied to Quest4TheNewMe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been consistently drinking the Protein shakes since September so I'd be used to them at least once a day.... I am in love with my sports bottle blender. I blend it the night before, and then refrigerate it so the froth goes away. I find that I can't mix the powders well enough without the blender. I also really like the Premier Protein ready-made shakes and the pure protein read-made shakes. I start my pre-op Friday and have my massive variety of individual powders from Nashua Nutrition as well as my 12 bottles of pure protein. -

My a-ha moment was realizing I'm not the only one. From the info session at my drs office and this site - I see how many people are like me and feel like me and are fighting the good fight against their lifelong weight. For so long I felt so alone in this world of heaviness - and then I met you guys! -
Aww I hope it is @@mrsbailey921 ! Glad you like it

Thanks guys.... I guess it's just nice to know I'm being heard. That's why I love this site - it's like my get away with people who totally get me and who don't know me, but at least seem concerned about my well-being. I can't even pretend this is something new. Or like I'm going to do something about my unhappiness... It's just nice to get it out.

@@Ky89 Oh sweetheart..... I could not understand you better.... I was the awkward friend. There's a reason I was always the designated driver - I was afraid of making a fool of myself more than I was already, just being heavy and hanging around all of these smaller, more fun people. I wish I could have went for this WTS sooner. But my daughter came into my life first.... so the life of parties, and bars, and trying to lure in guys went out the window. But part of me wished I had the chance to do it all over again - as a smaller girl. I commend you for being so honest about your feelings, and NEVER apologize for voicing them or posting them. It's healthier than holding it in. You are a fellow Dec sleever - and I wish you the most luck! Know that you are beautiful, and you will continue being beautiful sleeve or no sleeve. Have this surgery, and live it up for us fat girls who came before you and didn't get the chance to enjoy our teens and twenties like you still can! Show them what you got!!!

Friday's THANKFULNESS!
Shell88 replied to bobbyswife's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@@LipstickLady @@bobbyswife - you are both such beautiful women! Amazing things you both have done and continue to do! As someone who has always worked in the service industry, you see how dishonest and money hungry these people can be. An aspiring preacher/ex-rape victim who was at the time homeless just needed a room at my hotel so she could get clean and go back and forth to interviews. She was low on cash, and I helped her with her bill as an anonymous donor so she could have the extra time to get on her feet. I would just want to know someone would take care of me that way if I ever was that far down on my luck.
