My name is Mike and I am a 26 year old male who lives in Baltimore MD. I am not getting the surgery done, and have not been planning on getting the surgery done. I am about 6'4 and weigh about 240 pounds, but I am married and my wife is getting the surgery done. Currently she is in month 4 of her 6 month monitored diet and she is planning on getting the Vertical sleeve done probably in April. I came across this site by trying to search for support groups on google and this was one of the first sites that came up as I am looking for support for myself going through this process too as the last 4 months have been very overwhelming and my form of employment being an addictions counselor at a Methadone facility in Baltimore hash't been very easy for my levels of stress either. My wife is planning on having her surgery performed at Saint Agnes Hospital in Baltimore MD by Dr. Singh. Throughout this entire experience I have been trying to be as supportive as I can and I would like to be able to find a support group for spouses of Bariatric patients to get a better feel of what to expect throughout this journey as I do find myself a little worried about it. However, I do plan on making a lot of changes in my lifestyle choices on how I eat and will accompany her throughout this process to help try and help aid her with better success in being able to achieve her goal weight and stick to her goal weight.
