I was sleeved on Feb. 3rd and was just wondering how everyone else was doing? How far out are you? What food stage are you in? How are you tolerating food and liquids? Any complaints? Have you been able to start exercise? Any NSV yet? How are family and friends reacting to the new you? I'm just curious and really hope everyone is doing well!

Hunger+Capacity+Menstral cycle?
Lulah replied to snowkitten's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm doing great! Yesterday was my one year anniversary and even though I was slightly bummed that I had not reached my goal weight I decided that 70lbs is a big deal to lose in a year! I feel fantastic, the dr just lowered my blood pressure meds (YAY!) I am able to eat pretty much anything I want just in moderation, which is exactly what I had hoped for. -
Hunger+Capacity+Menstral cycle?

I was unable to do any exercise besides walking in the early days, I got a cold the week after surgery and the coughing made me so sore I thought I was going to bust my staples! As for diet I was really too scared to eat anything that was not on the approved list for that phase. If it was not on the list I didn't dare try it! -
Hunger+Capacity+Menstral cycle?

My cycle regulated about 2 months after surgery you can set a clock to it now! Before surgery I would go months with no period at all! I don't think the appetite has caused issues with weight loss, I find I gain maybe 2-3lbs around that time of the month but then I lose it right after so I believe it's just bloating/water weight. I lost 43lbs in the first 9wks after surgery it was crazy and alarming! It has slowed since then. I have 10 more to go before I hit my goal weight and they seem to be the hardest to lose. -

Hi! I'm not sure how long ago you were sleeved, I'm 12 months out and I can tell you when I'm pms'ing I feel like a bottomless pit! It's terrible and really takes every ounce of strength not to over do it for me. Not really helpful, but you are not alone! -
Wow can you believe we made it!!! It feels like I was prepping for sleeve surgery just a few days ago! How is everyone? Have you hit your goal weight? How is life different one year after surgery? Any health concerns? Any complaints? I hope everyone is doing fabulous!!!

Praying for your husband! Hope he is getting better!

You are not a failure! Hang in there everyone loses differently. Have you noticed any change in the way you clothes fit in the last 2 months? Sometimes when the scale isn't moving I am still losing inches.

I had quite a few NSV I couldn't wait for, they were getting my wedding rings to fit, cross my legs when sitting, not have to shop in plus sizes anymore, weigh less than 200lbs, feel confident taking pictures I have accomplished all of these in 3 months! I still want to get off my blood pressure meds and have a normal bmi, I'm working on it!

to my hispanic sleevers!
Lulah replied to time4change031113's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I tolerate pernil and pork chops just fine, just in very small portions. As a Puerto Rican rice is made in my home almost everyday, so I thought for sure this lifestyle change was going to be so hard, but so far so good. I don't miss it and watching the scale go down is much more satisfying! -
to my hispanic sleevers!
Lulah replied to time4change031113's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes I still use all of the same seasoning in my cooking, but I haven't had any tostones or anything like that yet and probably won't for a long while. So delicious but so bad for us and part of the reason I needed this surgery in the first place, lol! I did make some mangu the other day (boiled, mashed, seasoned plantains) and it went down fine, but I could only have a tiny bit. Good luck! -
What was your Infamous Week 3 Stall experience?
Lulah replied to NotSoTall's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was losing about 1-2lbs a day starting around day 4 post op. When I got to week 3 I just stopped losing, but I was pms'ing and constipated (ugh tmi). Well I am now almost 6 weeks out and weighed myself today (only weighing on Fridays) and I was down 2lbs so I'm praying that my stall is over!!! -
1.5 weeks out, first restaurant trip

Those of you who had a drain...
Lulah replied to Jen40's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah the drain was gross and that feeling when they remove, ugh! I was told to keep mine covered and was taught to change the dressing daily (simple gauze and tape). It closed up within a week, but I think internally it took longer to heal. That part of my abdomen still felt sore and strained easier then the rest of my abdomen. Just try to keep it clean and dry and if in doubt call your dr, good luck! -
Great to hear! Keep up the good work! I am 5 1/2 weeks out and am on soft foods. So far everything I have eaten has gone done well, so I am excited about that! I have been walking and just starting doing some squats and arm circles every day this week, nothing major but hoping to work my way up to more intense exercise in the next few weeks. My only complaint is the infrequent BM's (sorry tmi) but I think they cause my weight loss to stall and make me feel uncomfortable. I think I am going to try some gummy benefiber. As for NSV, my wedding ring fits again!!! Woohoo, I have not been able to wear it for at least 5 years and my clothes are big, I needed a belt with my work pants, which I haven't needed in forever and when I did but it on, I needed the last hole, so that was great! Friends and family are super supportive and happy for me, co workers are starting to notice my weight loss too. 20lbs since surgery 30lbs total Also wanted to ask what is your go to meal/snack right now? Mine is iced decaf coffee with a scoop of vanilla unjury protien powder, very good!

Lulah replied to HumanMerelyBeing's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Great post and true for sure! I hit my one month mark on Monday and am still struggling with your week three stuff but I know I will get there! -
I was sleeved 2/3 and have noticed my thighs and but are def losing the most weight/ inches! Hopefully it will all catch up and even out! Also, my abdomen still feels bloated and I'm a month out, not as much as before, but not soft and squishy like before lol.

Anyone else have trouble with protein intake?
Lulah replied to reany237's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What a great idea! Wish my NUT would have given me something like this to follow, makes it so simple!
