OK this is a tax question. I know it says its deductible but what exatly does that mean? does that mean i get more money back? I need to know so I can talk to my hubby. If I can I am going to get a loan and see about getting this done. I think it will help me more than cost me in the long run.:help:

I dont even know how much it costs here. I checked my ins and under benefit exculsions it says: Medical and surgical services, initial and repeat, intended for the treatment or control of boesity, including clinically severe (morbid) obesity including: medical and surgical services to alter appearances or physical changes that are the result of any surgery performed for the management of obesity or clinically severe (morbi) obesity; and weight loss programs or treatments, whether prescribed or recommeded by a physician or unde rmedical supervision. -
I know the feeling. My hubby's work doesnt offer any good insurance stuff either. also he works for a mutli million/billion dollar company so him askin his boss will do nothing. (he works for deffenbaugh industries in kansas)

i have insurance but the have worded my benefits just right to where they wont cover anything. I have tried almost everything to see if there is a way around it...but no...I cant afford the self pay sadly enough. I wish someday that some nice rich person would see me and off me the money....id take it in a heartbeat. I am starting to get worried because my son is going to be walking soon and im worried i cant keep up. -
The money is holding me back...but glad to be here anyway!

I want to know if i should keep tryin or give up. My insurance states exactly this. Medical and surgical services, initial and repeat, intended for the treatment or control of obesity, including clinically severe (morbid) obesity, including: Medical and surgical services to alter appearances or physical changes that are the result of any surgery performed for the management of obesity o rclinically severe (morbid) obesity; and weight loss programs or treatments, whether prescribed or recommended by physician or under medical supervision. I just dont know if i can get around that wording.

See right now I am a student so I cant afford to self-pay. My husband is the only worker and we have a son that is 10 1/2 months old. no credit cards.

I have a question. anywhere in your EOB does it say that weight loss is not covered? I want to have the lap band but i dont think they will cover. its through my husband's work and its Cigna.
