  1. I had the same problem very often in the beginning. I'm 3.5 months out now and only my lipitor is huge and still feels stuck sometimes. I managed to get everything else in small pill, dissolves or is cheweable. The Calcium citrate were the worse but I take chews now.
  2. I'm home for the first time in nearly a week. We did 3 days at Cedar Point amusement park. Sunday I walked 4.7 miles, Monday 9.04 miles, Tuesday 4.14. Then 2 days of college visits with my daughter (4.08 and 3.62 miles). It was great not having a scale around until this morning. I lost 1 stinking pound. 1. Really? I usually walk under 2 miles a day and I have been terrible about my exercise. So I was sure I was going to have this huge loss. NOPE. Not very happy this morning. That being said, I'm still farther than I thought I would be. My doctor told me realistically I could expect to lose 70 pounds. Anything more than that would be a bonus. Since surgery (4/15) I have lost 52.5. My BMI started at 40 and it's now 31.6. I had to buy all new clothes. So while that stinking scale really pissed me off this morning, it's progress.

    Stretched pouch

My nutritionist said protein and fruit or veggie every meal. I'm a little over 3 months out. I eat 2-3 oz of protein then my fruit or veggie. I take 25-30 minutes to eat , 3 x a day. No snacks unless I don't feel well from my medicine. No protein supplements or shakes.
  4. That exactly describes my gall bladder attack. I had mine out 2 months before my RNY. I took PPI meds but only for 3 months.

    Plateau Problems

I had 2 as well. First started at week 3 and the second at week 9ish. Both ended. Did not get on scale once I realized I had stalled.

    Stretch Marks

I agree the loose wrinkly saggy skin makes the stretch marks look different. They are the least of my problems now. It's the loose wrinkly saggy skin I'm worried about!

    Biotin

I take 100mg as well. I have no idea if it's making a difference or not. I started about 6 weeks post op. I'm at 13 weeks now. I am losing a little bit of hair. I've always had really short hair so I don't notice it as much as all the luck folks with big manes of hair. I have always had flimsy nails and that does not appear to have gotten worse or better.

    nauseous all the time

I lived on saltine crackers. Ate a few after each meal. My nausea hung out for about 8 weeks.
  9. agree! get your nutritionist involved. I have almonds and pistachios with me at all time. I don't use Protein Powder on my program, I suspect that's going to be a huge part of your travel plan because it's consistent.

    2 months out with hunger

I think it also depends on your reaction to hunger. I am 3 months out. I would rarely say I'm hungry, but I my stomach does feel different at some points and makes noises that my brain associates as hunger. If I ate the proper meal and I get those noises, I ignore them because I take that to be head hunger. Now, if I didn't eat enough Protein the meal before, then it's hunger and I deal with it. Sometimes just drinking helps. Sometimes a change of scenery helps. Sometimes I have to move a meal up to fix the problem. On rare occasions I end up with 3 meals and a snack. Have you met with your nutritionist to see what you are eating and how you can make your meals last longer? Mine says a good high protein meal eaten over 25 minutes will last at 5 hours.

    notice any progress

    smart move ditching that scale!!!
  12. Hi everyone! Just passed my 3 month mark this week (April 15). I hope all my fellow April folks are doing well. My news for the week is Onederland! 198.5 this morning. I'm trying to figure out the last time I was under 200. Honestly I think it was early in my pregnancy with my daughter who turns 18 in October. My mind and body image is not keeping pace with my body's transformation. Yes, I'm wearing different size clothes and the number on the scale is obviously dropping, but the mirror is a problem. I'm really struggling with the way my body looks in the mirror. My stomach, legs and arms are I'm sure "normal" for many people who lose weight quickly, but it sucks. This is my struggle right now. I have my "3 month" appointment on August 7 so it's really almost a 4 month appointment. I suspect my labs won't be very good. I'm struggling with the Protein and fluids. I'm pretty much able to eat anything. I have not tried rice yet. And of course nothing fried or anything dessert related. I've even tried pizza. Now, it was a 1" thick slice, but it was pizza. And yesterday I had a flat bread pizza for lunch at BJ Brewery. Of course, I had less than 1/4 of it but still it was exciting. Keep working everyone!!!
  13. Hi everyone, I hope everyone is well. it's the 19th which means we are about 2/3 of the way through April. I'm only 4 days post-op. I'm sitting down at the computer for the first time. So far so good.

    Plateau Problems

I've been away from the scale for a few days now and I have to tell you, it's liberating. I've been in the 207-209 range for several weeks. I'm 11 weeks out. It's making me crazy. So not weighing myself is a good thing. The stalls are very stressful!!!! I suspect stress is part of the stall.

    tuna, chicken, pork.... meats!

The folks on the sleeve boards can probably help you more than us bypass folks. Your stomach is 3 to 4 times bigger than our pouch.
  16. There is a wide range of sugar in the Go Lean Products. The cool flavors that come in powder are probably a bad idea for most people. You should compare the amount in each. I used the ready to drink chocolate and pumpkin during weeks 1 & 2. (My program doesn't allow Protein drinks after that). I also think the vanilla has lower sugar too. I hated the unjury and Isopure. The Go Lean was my only liquid supplement.
  17. I felt "normal " around the week 8 timeframe. I had very bad fatigue. My doc doubled my B12 dose to help.

    Going out post op

The kids and I went to Chili's the other night. There were lot of choices to pick from. I was pleased. I got some mexican chicken bowl and only ate about 1/4 of it. The kids ate the leftovers the next day. It's a win win. I've also eaten at Outback and just had chicken and veggies. I'm amazed that the appetizers I use to absolutely love don't phase me any more. I don't have the urge to eat them at all.
  19. Try getting on the sleeve board. I know lots of people have the procedure so they would be helpful.

    beyond frustrated

I have not been home in 3 days and I have to admit that being away from my scale has been awesome. I've never been too tied to the scale, but I am guilty of getting on it too much. I've been stalled for almost 2 weeks now. So not weighing myself for a few days has felt awesome!
  21. I take Citracal Gummies. I like the taste.
  22. Check with your fellow sleevers on the sleeve boards.

    The Infamous "Stall"...

I'm 10 weeks post op and facing stall #2. I had one weeks 3-4 as well. I've lost 38-40 depending on the day. While some days the stall really upsets me, there are days I consider it a blessing. I try to tell myself it's good for my body to stabilize. Don't get me wrong, I want the weight off but I also want my skin to have time to adjust.
