I am 5 weeks out and I have sleep apnea, I am also a Respiratory Therapist who specializes in obstructive sleep apnea. The others have nailed it, sleep apnea is a reason to do the surgery not stop it. The difference is your RDI (respiratory distress index) is less than 15. This usually means your apnea doesn't require treatment and most insurance companies won't pay for Cpap or Bipap equipment unless RDI exceeds 15. Of course all insurances are different as are all doctors. In any case your apnea appears to be very mild. Good luck with your surgery

I'm 4 weeks out from my bypass surgery and I'm still only able to tolerate full liquids and puréed vegetables. Problem is I don't tolerate anything very well in the morning, everything makes Me nauseated, after I've been up a couple hours I can tolerate fluids and the such ok. Is this normal, when can I expect to be able to tolerate solids. I've got my 1 month appt on the 18th and will ask the nut but I'd like other opinions as well

I'm 1 month out on the 13th, I'm having no abdominal pain related moving, I'm able to sleep in any position and make anyone meant pain free. My question is can I shovel snow in moderation without hurting anything?

My diet adds fish in the 4th week. Your comments are well received though, something else I just found out is my grand daughter who lives with us also is having tummy issues, leads me to think that maybe this is a stomach bug, biggest worry if that be true is getting fluids in, which I still can't do

I'm 1 month out and was doing well when all of a sudden I ate approx 2 Oz of baked fish last night and I've been sick for last 16 hours. I'm at a loss to understand, can't take fluids or anything. Any suggestions

I'm 55 and had surgery 1-13-14. Highest wt 515 surgery wt 448 today's wt 400. Goal 250. Only complications for me has been transition from full liquids to soft food. I get very nauseated especially in the mornings. I'm presently pureeing my food for a while. I'm glad I did it. Will be Evan happier when I get to goal. Good luck to you

I had my surgery on 1-13-14. Have lost 48lbs. Having no problems with exercise or fluids but am having problems with food at times. I'm still on soft foods and fish. Mornings are the worst. Was hoping to gain some insight about nausea problems others may of had at this stage. Other than the tummy problems I'm very happy with my progress
