I lost my mother March of 2013 and my father in Nov 2013. I have a brother and a sister. We are all pretty close and feel we are all each other has!(besides our spouses) this makes me think about my son, if something happened to us he would be all alone! I couldn't imagine having to go through both of those losses without my siblings. I know I can't safely carry another one until I'm at a healthy weight. I developed pre-eclampsia and delivered him 3 months early.

I haven't had a fill yet and I am not very hungry. 15 days post op.. The little I am eating I'm making myself do it. I really worry that I am not getting enough calories. After workout I felt really nauseous and nervous tonight. I ate a lil tuna and had a protein shake. That didn't really help so I ended up taking a nausea pill. I also think trying to get in all this water making me not want to eat either.

Another later...in a year or so...maybe...sometimes I think it's a good idea and others I wonder if I've lost my mind!

It's amazing how my new tool(still no name yet) makes you more in tune and aware of what your body does. I have figured out that if I drink something and I'm tight I burp. Also when I drink water it feels like I have had something thick to drink. I have never paid any attention to how food or drink goes down but now I do. It's strange that I'm still tight this late in the day. I just took my chicken breast smothered in mushrooms, onions, spinach and cheese out the oven and I'm afraid to eat. I had my warm hot choc this morning but still feeling tight. Haven't had any food all day just liquids. Just seems strange. I guess my band just has a mind of its own. We are invited to have Easter dinner with friends tomorrow maybe this is my bands way of reminding me that I can go over there and try to eat everything tomorrow!

I love reading NSV''s! Keep it up! Hearing success stories really motives me and gives me the "I can" attitude!

I may have to try them although I'm not a fan of dark choc. I bought some regular cool whip I was gonna eat with some SF jello but decided against it. 2 tablespoons was 25 cals and 2g of sugar.

Get up and dust yourself off! Your a brave woman to try that and VERY lucky you didn't get stuck! I am about 4 weeks out now am I'm eating things like scrambled eggs, baked fish, tuna and tried some chick breast for the first time yesterday. Soft solids. My doc even told me I could make sandwich with 40 cal wheat bread(too afraid to try bread). But hang in there, look in your packet of info and se wht your surgeon wants you to eat if you can't find it ask them to give you another copy. All surgeons require diff things so you wanna make sure you are doing what your doc thinks is right for you. Some surgeons allow patients too progress slower to solids and some faster.

I tired very easily for about a week. Don't get discouraged, your weightloss will come. You are still in the healing phase. What types of food have you been eating?
-
Hang in there! Just think about the end result!

My band is currently empty! That's what's so strange! I am scheduled for a fill on next Wednesday 23rd. Unless something drastically changes with my appetite in the next few days I prob won't be getting one. Even though I haven't had any food today I still feel full(if that makes sense). I have heard of some pep not needing a fill for a while, I guess I'm one of them.

letting other's determine how i feel

I walked into my school cafeteria and one of the teachers made a big scene bout my weight-loss! It kinda pissed me off cause we don't even talk like that. When she said it of course everyone at the table had to turn around and look. She asked how much had I lost and I said not that much. I only told a select few pep at my job but now am wishing I didn't tell anyone because news travels fast. You can tell them that you don't know that your concentrating on creating healthy habits not the scale. When most pep think wls they think of drastic, fast and easy weight loss. They have no clue! You are 20lb out! Be proud of it. Screw them!! Good luck and continued success on your journey!! -

delove32 replied to delove32's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just ate a few pieces with no problem! But I didn't cook them as dry as I usually would. Baked tilapia and roasted okra tonight. Now have to workout before Scandal comes on! -
Not Losing- 4 months Post op

Yes, that is why I said omit the banana. Although it doesn't give your blood sugar a bad spike it is higher in higher in carbs. Berries or peaches would be good. When we wkout our body burns carbs for fuel first then after the carbs are used it gets fuel from our fat stores( I plenty fuel there). I don't want to have to burn a lot of carbs before I can burn fat. It was just a suggestion. Right now I'm steering clear of all extra carbs...etc bread, rice, pasta, potatoes until I get at least halfway because I do have a long way to go. I have put my carb demon to sleep and I'm being very careful not to wake it. That demon literally CONTROLS me! -

I would omit the banana and linguini. Also watch the sugar and carbs in the yogurt. I would also try to increase the Water by 2 glasses if you can. Be watchful too of the sodium in your prepackaged foods.. How are you doing with your Fiber? I am 21 days post op but my days have been looking like this.... I start my day with 10-12 oz of Protein hot choc or Cappuccino ..15 grams protein-94 cals (to help loosen my band) I may have a 80 cal -12. Gram protein yogurt or 1/2 cup cottage cheese and 1/4 cup NSA diced peaches for Breakfast. Or a Protein shake. Most days I don't because after hot choc I start working on my water and I'm usually full. lunch I'll have 1/2 cup of tuna mixed with cottage cheese or 1/2 piece of tilapia or salmon or a couple of slices of turkey spread with a little chive cream cheese and rolled up. Today I had 3/4 cup ground beef/refried Beans and cheese mixed together dinner is usually more of the same.. I usually have to have a Protein Drink before bed to meet my protein quota I may not be a good sample because I am not eating much and I'm still on soft solids. I try to be very conscious bout my carbs and my activity level for the day. It is also my goal to have completed 3- 20oz bottles of water before leaving work. I usually get in more than the required 64. Stay encouraged, I do believe it will get better! -

OMG!Never knew a burp good feel so good!

I am day 12 postop and this was my first day back at work. First thing this morning I had 2 gummy vitamins(mistake #1) then bout 9 I had a premier protein shake(mistake #2) then I tried sipping water(mistake #3) It took me awhile to get the shake down which was unusual. I felt miserable full and I wouldn't go away! After awhile I started on a 20 oz bottle of water...felt like the water was sitting in my chest, I felt like I needed to burp but couldn't. Called nurse she said tht I prob had the shake too soon and was tight. Didn't kno you could be tight with an empty band but she said yes the band may have a lil fluid left from surgery. It took me till bout 2:30 to finish tht water. We just came off of spring break and I've slept in everyday. So I never started my liquids till 11 or so. Her solution was to have something warm when I got home and to try some gas x strips, to do vitamin later in day or at night and not to have breakfast till 10:30-11 to give my band time to loosen up. Came home made me some protein hot choc and my my my!!!! The burps began and they were GREAT!! I'll try again tomorrow, learning this band will be a process!! -
