I am scheduled for March 3rd

Did you find out anything more about your diet? Mine is 3 protein shakes and one healthy meal. So not too bad! But today I worked a 12 hour shift (I'm a nurse) and I was starving by 5 pm! I didn't bring enough food with me and thank goodness a coworker had some extra fresh carrots and peppers. Saved the day! Is your diet pretty similar? Tomorrow I have a preop class for four hours. I meet with the dietician, surgeon, and go over paperwork for the surgery. One more day down! -
takefeline started following Catheter for surgery?, 1 1/2 years after the sleeve and I am scheduled for March 3rd

March 3rd is my date too! I started my prep diet today and it's been a struggle, but I feel better! Because I have to stick to this diet I am not focusing on "what my last meal" will be! Two weeks will go by so quickly for us! Where are you getting your surgery? I am in San Diego. -
I am getting my sleeve done in two weeks, and I was wondering if anyone can tell me if they put a urinary catheter in you for the surgery and for some time post op?

Telling people about surgery... Advice needed
takefeline replied to takefeline's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My advice is... stop caring what other ppl think. I don't and believe me.... it is therapeutic. I too am a nurse. I love when people want me to fail cuz it fuels my fire even more. I can usually sniff those ppl out and do my best to really irritate them with my success. I just got into NP school and a lot of those ppl are even more irritated.... I am going to be skinny AND move up the career ladder. Yea... I love ppl who want to see me fail. I internally thank them for giving me relentless motivation. Belladonna, I'm also in an NP program and when that came out at work I had to deal with all the negative talk (you know what I mean). Not sure what I will do yet, but I admire your attitude towards this! Will keep it in mind! -
Telling people about surgery... Advice needed
takefeline posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My surgery is scheduled for March 3rd and one of my biggest stressors is telling people about the surgery. The only people who currently know are my husband and his parents. I have a strained relationship with my family, so I've already decided to not tell them (they all live across the country so this won't be hard). My issue is that I am a nurse and will be out of work for a month, so I know there will be questions about where I am. I don't want a lot of attention drawn to me and I definitely don't want people talking about me behind my back (working with mostly women!), so I'm not sure what to say. I also am not sure if I will tell my closest friends. I feel they may be too judging... Being around other ppl who have had bariatric surgery... People don't always want the best for you and would rather see someone fail! Any advice on how to handle this? -
How did you handle telling everyone about your surgery

I've read all the posts on this topic, but haven't quite made the decision yet for myself. My surgery date in in 3 weeks and so far only my husband and his parents know. I have had drama with my family in the past and so I don't know how they will accept my decision... even though both my parents have had gastric bypass. I don't think I will tell my friends because I feel they will judge me. I am unsure if I should tell my coworkers. I am a nurse, so they will all notice I am out on medical leave for weeks. I have considered telling them I am getting gallbladder surgery, but I hate lying and am terrible at it. I just don't know if I am confortable dealing with all their opinions (especially being in a female profession). I am confident in my decision, but I do not deal well with people's criticism. This is probably the thing that is stressing me out the most at this point... any advice?
