    Op 28th March

Well I guess I ought to start packing few things for the hospital! Had the pre-ops on Wednesday. I will be at the hospital for 7.30am and I'm the first one in. Dr has two ops that day. I really hope my diversions on the pre-op hasn't put a kibosh on the op, guess I will find out tomorrow. I'm not nervous, just keen to get started on my new life Will try and post tomorrow, as I'm taking the lap top with me and will let you know how I get on.
  2. I'm sure it won't kill you if you can't take Vitamins for a couple of weeks! Take a deep breath in and breathe out and relax. Its not the end of the world. Maybe just get some liquid vitamins and mix a spoonful in with a glass of Water.
  3. Well I already have the alcohol addiction, but hope to be rid of the food one next week! LOL

    Op 28th March

Well saw my surgeon today, its all go for next Friday. I'm to be there for around 6.30 and I'm the first in for surgery that day. His doing two ops on Friday, I should be having pre-ops on Thursday, bloods etc. Did some shopping on the way back, chewable vits from Boots, apple juice, yogurts, frubes and about 12 ltrs of skimmed milk!. Monday will go shopping for Protein shakes and I'm going to buy some of those Ice Lolly kits and make my own sugar free ones for after the op. I just want it all to be over now and to just concentrate on losing the weight. Oh and no carbs, just milk and yogurt now
  5. The Water doesn't make it to your stomach. I'm sorry to ask but you've had this procedure before and don't know exactly what it does or where the water goes? I'm sorry I can't help laughing No offence..
  6. I know when I did the lighter life shakes, one of the side effects with it being low carb and low calorie; was that it made you feel cold. I think its just a side effect of eating especially low calorie intake at this time

    Op 28th March

Chances of not eating at a wake, well zero, not drinking, zero too.I'm back on it tomorrow, I still have 10 days to shrink that liver!! LOL I had a meet with the dietician today, and nurse, it went well. I am seeing the consultant on Friday and pre op stuff on the 27th. I can't wait to just get it over and done with. I've also handed in my notice in work and am going to concentrate on me for a change. I'm going to take a few months out, get fit, do a bit of re training and then onwards and upwards!!

    Wine

My god, I thought I was the only person this happened to. I am getting sleeved on the 28th of this month. I have to say, I thought I was alone in the fact that wine made me go to the loo. If I've not been going to well, I will always have a glass of wine to help me go. I wonder why it has this effect? I too worry about drinking afterwards, I can eat pretty well all week but if I have a wine, I get the carb munchies and just eat crap. I don't eat sweets or crisp etc but I will attack the cheese and crakers etc.

    Knees snap, crackle and pop

Its probably Crepitus, look it up on line and see if you think its that..
  10. I did confirm if I had to stay on the pre op that long and the answer was YES and that they had sent me the correct diet!!
  11. No, no date yet but it just seems like I was sent a list of what to eat which wasn't a lot and as a bit of an afterthought. I also think they just sent me a copy of a band diet and not the sleeve. I will wait and see what happens in the next few days as they are trying to rearrange my appointments. At least I will lose some weight before the op!! lol
  12. I only got my bloody month wrong didn't I! I turned up yesterday on the 18th and my appointment was for the 18th March, couldn't believe I had made such a mistake!! So they are trying to get me into another dietitian if possible and bring it forward. If they stick to the original dates it will be over 7 weeks on pre-op which don't you think is a bit too long?
  13. Mine doesn't seem as indepth a that, just yogurt, milk and clear Soups. I I want a meal then it has to be under 300. What I'm doing at the moment is using up my diet chef meals as they are all under 300. I am seeing the dieticein tomorrow, so no doubt, where I hope I will get more information and then the following week my surgeon and then we can set a date. I'm a bit worried about work as we are trying to recruit at the moment but I made the decision that its not my problem and I really do have to put myself first. I'm just trying to work out what to say for the time off. I was thinking, maybe abdominal surgery and they don't really have to know more than that, what are you putting down?
  14. I will do, I start my pre-op diet tomorrow, its looking pretty unappetising to say the least. I've pigged out like a big fat pig today, not on crap food mind you, just huge portions of good stuff, which lets face it is why I'm in this state to start with. Lets not forget that there is a chat room facility on this site, its at the bottom of the reply to this topic box, all you have to do is click it and go into the room. I have an appointment next Tuesday so will let you know how it goes..
  15. I'm due surgery hopefully the start of March, will get the date confirmed at my next appointment. I'm feeling pretty ambivalent at the moment and keep wondering if its the right thing to do. I know that really I've tried everything and failed and see this as my last chance if you know what I mean?
  16. I understand now, thanks for the information
  17. What is this Weigh ahead group? Why did you have to do it, sorry for sounding so dim. Its just I've not heard about it. I had my first consultation at the Spire Worcestershire but nothing was said about this. Cheers
