Who eats McDonalds post op?
survivingsleever replied to mi75's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'll be honest, I'm 3 months out and down 40 lbs. I'll indulge, no where near as much as I use too (weekly basis). Maybe once a month. For example a mc griddle meal. I'll take off the top part of the griddle and eat a half in one sitting. 3 hrs later the other have, 3 hrs later the hash brown. Instead of pop or juice I get a large cup of water. I'm a realist, I'm human and like to treat myself every now in then. I don't have the weekly cravings which is amazing! -

survivingsleever replied to 22pix's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I use to be super regular same time every morning like clock work pre surgery. Now post, I don't eat no where as much as I use to. 2 1/2 months out every 3-4 days is regular. -

How to deal with others eating around you?
survivingsleever replied to itsjustdaisy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I go out maybe 3x wk. I'm about 6 wks out. I can get full off a cup of Soup or eat half an appetizer. My immediate fam knows. But if I'm not with them I tell whoever I ate before I came or have another eating engagement and want to eat light. Normally were so busy talking for them to notice I barely ate anything. -
How were you feeling 3 weeks out?
survivingsleever replied to WhoKnows's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel great! I'll b 4 wks tomorrow. I only took 1 wk off work. To be honest I haven't been doing well with my Water, Vitamin schedule, and Protein shakes. But I still have energy, and know my body enough to know when to sit down. Right now I'm down 24 lbs. =) -

Sleep Apnea Evaluation - Unexpected Requirement
survivingsleever replied to SnohoGal98296's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In my case of jumping through hurdles I found out I had sleep apnea. I was sleeved 3/14, as of today I'm 20 lbs lighter. My sleep study dr told me at a recent follow up dr if I loose 20 more lbs within 5 months I need to reschedule another sleep study to get my pressure re evaluated. Generally once you loose 25% of your body fat within 6 month time frame you have to meet with your dr and they will determine if you need to stay on. Good luck! -

survivingsleever replied to 521Diva's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My first food on my puréed phase was fried eggs! I added a lil cheese to give it a boost of protein. I honestly got tired of tuna and chicken salad in the first few days. My go to is thin sliced cucumbers. It gives a crunch factor I miss when I ate chips. -

Premier Protien Bars
survivingsleever replied to BabySheldon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I purchased mine from Sams. Everyday I have a premier protein shake for breakfast and a premier protein bar in the evening when I get the munchies. Combined it equals 58 grams which is close to my minimum goal of 60 grams per day. -
Soup Anyone?
survivingsleever replied to Bridgette Black's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 16 days out. I haven't had nausea or any complications. My dr advanced me on stage 3 four days early because my sleeve was doing well. The trick is small bites, chewing 25-30 times while mixing it with saliva in your mouth. It sounds gross but it makes the food go down much easier! Good luck -

Anyone not tell family?
survivingsleever replied to MIMamaof2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started my journey 6/13, and was sleeved 3/14. Only people I told was my mom, husband, 1sister, and two older kids. I have two other sisters and family who I decided not to tell. I do not intend on telling them either. Just my personal choice because I'm not really close. My reasoning, you didn't care enough to intervene when I was obese, why include you in my choice to do something about it?? I don't need negative nannies (family/friends/acquaintances) in my life passing judgement or asking me questions I don't care to respond to. They can see my success from the sideline . -

Go to their website and type in your zip code. Walmart, sams club, costco, Kroger, and Meyers sell near me. They sell fairly quickly and is out if stock often. I think amazon sells them too. -
