whats your secret wish or fantasy?
Kelliebelly replied to FRECKLES3's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Of Course my fantasy is to have Oprah call me up and ask me all about the surgery and how great I have done and invite me on the show to talk about it because I have done sooooo amazing, then as one of those suprises she likes to do she has a plastic surgeon backstage who is waiting to whisk me away and fix all my wobbly bits and then do an update show when its all finished...ahhh wouldnt it be lovely, and yes this fantasy has popped into my head on at least 10 occasions -
Ohhh yes, I remember the days clearly, I still have a while before it is a distant memory, but the "spillages" are getting less and less.

My Dr told me outright if I didnt give up he would not band me. He said it was too much of a risk doing surgery on a smoker who is obese as well. I gave up the day of the op, I tried before and couldnt. It helped being in hospital and not being allowed to smoke, then when I got home I was too sick and in pain to think about it for a few days....After that I thought I may as well fight it and really give up. It has been hard at times....VERY HARD....but I still havent had a cigga since the night before my surgery 4 months ago. One of the things I really notice is that when I smoked I would get puffed easily doing things, now I can exercise and not get puffed. Good Luck

Had my eldest daughters birthday BBQ today with all the family. Paul(Hubby) got a beautiful chocolate mudcake from Michels and expected me not to have some ...YEA RIGHT!!!! I wanted just a little taste test, so he took a pic while I was eating it for me to show all my band friends how bad I am lol I am going to try and attatch the naughty pic below. Please dont flame me too hard I am in the middle - my eldest daughter is on my left and my mum is on the right

Almost two years out..... and I can't FIND the wagon I fell off of
Kelliebelly replied to a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey!!!! Good on you for making the first step. Seeing your post makes me realise if I dont watch myself and follow the band rules I can very easily put my weight back on and end up back where I started. I too fall of the wagon weekly, but manage to get myself back on by the next week. I know how easy it must have been for you after losing such a large amount of weight to kind of relax and slip back into your old ways... Good on you for losing the weight to start with and just goes to show you can do it again. Good Luck and hope to see you around -

Calling all Vanguard Bandsters...
Kelliebelly replied to daisydoodle's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I hear you! I got my 8th fill on Thursday taking me up to 8.9ml in the vanguard. I am feeling some pretty good restriction now. I really didnt notice a difference in restriction till I had 7ml in. In Australia most surgeons are putting the VG band in regardless of stomach size etc, most dont even uset he smaller bands at all anymore. My Dr gave me a reason when I asked him although I have forgotton so i will ask at the next visit and let you know. I wouldnt worry to much if I was you, just keep getting fills and follow the bandster rules and restriction will come. Just remember with the bigger band MOST of us will need alot more fills and time till we get good restriction. Good Luck -
Angel I see you mentioned Effexor. I have been on it for yrs due to several personal probs. I am in the process of weaning off it now but wanted to mention that the first 12 months or so on it I was tired alot of the time. I even started taking afternoon naps. Im not sure if this is the reason but just thought Id add it.

Feel like a failure after lecture from doc yesterday..
Kelliebelly replied to Connorsmom's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
So Sorry this is happening to you. I dont have any wise words ...I would be extremely angry in your shoes. I hope you get it worked out. -
I just wanted to let you know I went through the same thing. My port area was very sore and bruised for about 6 weeks. I had no restriction AT ALL by the time I got my first fill and had actually put some weight back on. Today I had my 8th fill taking me up to 8.9ml in a VG band. Dont worry!!!!! You WILL feel restriction when you start getting fills, it does come I forgot to add that my port feels like it moves all the time...especially when I bend, every fill I have had has been under fluro and it hasnt moved, it is still securely in place.

How many of you Bandsters have Dr's that want to keep fill amounts a secret???
Kelliebelly replied to Jammin & Losin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My doctor says exactly what your doc says. The only reason I know how much I have in is because everytime he finishes and goes back into his room with the next patient I ask the secretary I WANT to know for my own reasons...but am too scared to fight him on it, so asking the secretary who happily tells me everytime is fine with me. -
I have been working on it non stop to get it done, I only have to catch up on some updates and wah lah. I hope this is allowed but I was wondering if you guys could tell me what you think? Tah http://lapbandster.tripod.com/

I Have Finally finished my Lap Band site
Kelliebelly replied to Kelliebelly's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks you guys for the support and suggestion. I really welcome them and will work on fixing them. Thanks and hugs -
I have the Vanguard 10ml band. My doctors standard procedure is to put 2.5mls in during surgery. I also wondered what I had done for about a week after surgery. The pain and running to the toilet plus the lost of my best friend food was just too much. Once you start feeling better you will realise this is the best thing you have ever done for yourself. Good Luck

Just wanted to add that I have had 7 fills so far. As we all have to learn, patience is the key with this band *sigh* Good Luck
