    Questionable post op diet

I was on full liquids for the first 7 days. After that I switched to soft foods. No puréed food for me. This was my surgeons instructions.
  2. I am 6 days post op and I feel very light headed. This has been going on for a couple of days. I am on full liquids and getting in about 50 grams of protein and 60 oz of liquid. Any thoughts on what is causing this?

Can you pick up KFC? ...Um what?

Good for you for picking it up. My husband does not want to eat in front of me sometimes (I am only 11 days out) and I remind him that this is now the real world for me and to go ahead and eat. The sooner I get used to what my family and friends eat, the better for me.

    Restriction?

I feel the same way. I was put on soft food (1/4 cup) 1 week out. I stop at 1/4 cup but I am also worried because I do not feel any restriction either.

    Confessions of the newly sleeved

I was sleeved on 03/05 and put on soft foods a week later. I have been eating cottage cheese, refried beans, scrambled eggs and this evening I had scalloped potatoes. No issues thus far.

    Feel great but not losing

Good. Refried beans and cottage cheese are my favorites. I think I was losing more on the liquid/puréed stage though.

    Feel great but not losing

I was sleeved on the 5th and am only down 9 pounds so I think you are doing awesome!
  8. After 4-5 days I was able to drink without any restrictions. My doctor said some people can and to enjoy all the liquids I want.
  9. Was on puréed the day I came home from the hospital. At 1 week out I went to soft foods. Both times it took about a day to adjust.
  10. I am 8 days out and I have no problem at all with liquids. My surgeon told me to go ahead and drink all that I am comfortable with, just to stay away from carbonated drinks, etc. The first few days were hard to drink anything at all but now I can drink 16 oz in an hour - no problem - I JUST FEEL FULL.
  11. I am now off all go my pain medications.
  12. Am now 4 days post op and the liquids are going down easier then they were. At first it took me 3-4 hours to drink a protein shake. As of this morning I can drink one in 1 1/2 - 2 hours. Is this normal?

    Surgery tomorrow

My surgery is tomorrow too. I am so nervous. For the last two days, sleep has been minimal. Looking forward to waking up Wednesday afternoon, after surgery, and starting this journey. We got this!

    5 days post op

So glad to hear things went well. I have surgery Wednesday and this gives me added hope that things will be fine.

    After Surgery Feeling Depressed

I do not like the protein shakes either. Having said this, I find the Atkins to be better then most. I fill a glass with ice and pour the shake at room temperature over the ice and let it sit for about 15 minutes. This changes the consistency and makes it easier to drink. My surgery is Wednesday and I can't wait. God luck.
  16. Costco also has great prices on vitamins and B-12.

    My Journey/March 2014 Sleever

The Atkins shakes are the best I have found also.
  18. My surgery is 03/05 and I am having a hard time saying goodbye to food in this final stage. I have already lost 28 pounds pre-op and my doctor said I do not need to lose more, but I am not to gain anything now. The closer I get to surgery, the harder it seems to be? I guess I'm just nervous too.
