cheating on pre-op liquid diet
readyanxiousscared posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi all! I am writing this because I am ashamed and embarrassed because I cheated on my liquid diet with several times. Now I've read ppl posts about cheating with fruits or maybe crackers but my ass went the extra mile and ate McD three times. I am completely worried but also wondering if I should even do this. I have 10days left, will my liver shrink enough in time? I've come so far and frankly too far too sabotage it for myself. Please folks give me some words of encouragement. Keep the criticism down to a minimum please. -
For anyone who smoked or smokes, what kind of nicotine tests do they do at the hospital before surgery?

Thanks guys I am very appreciative of all the encouragement and truth. I am trying once again today to do better and if it becomes too much I'll just eat an apple. Out what about watermelon? -

I've lost about 12 lbs -
I''ve come very far, I've been cleared by NUT,dietician and psychiatry. My paperwork should be submitted on Monday and when I get my approval I should get the date I want. So what's wrong with this picture....I can't stop eating everything. I have gained almost 15lbs since I started this process (1/31/14) and the doctor excused it cause I'm in the process of quitting cigarettes. Ok so I'm not sure if I'm sabotaging or what. I'm extremely worried now because I saw a younger girl who had the sleeve a couple months ago and she was eating chips, pop and candy. I do feel like I'll never get to eat my favorite foods again so I am consuming everything. I need some tips to stop eating everything

I definitely understand that lonely feeling. If it wasn't for this site I would be lost. My mom just let me know how she really feels. it really hurt that she couldn't put her personal feelings aside just to enjoy the fact That I'm happy. She has the nerve to say when I was your age I did it and exercise worked for me. If that didn't amplify the doubts I have and increase the second guessing I don't know what can. I just decided that I'm going to do this alone and I'm ok with that -

I see u said something about being easily triggered to smoke and cry...I was there at the beginning of this process. My p p prescribed WellButrin for Mike depression and quitting smoking. More than anything this medication has made the surgery possible for me because smoking was a staple in my life and I was sad about everything which led to be eating everything. Its not for everybody but I am definitely singing it's praises. Good luck. I understand the lonely and lost feeling so feel free to message me anytime. -
2014 Chicago Sleevers
readyanxiousscared replied to gettinbacktome's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
That's odd because when I asked Melissa about a May appt she said it would be possible because they were still scheduling for April. I'm sad to learn this because I wanted it done in May. Who is Rantis? Where is the Kane Center ? -
I couldn't believe this ish...
readyanxiousscared posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went to he doctor on Wednesday to confirm I wanted the sleeve. While waiting the the waiting room I had a very informative convo with patients of my doc who'd already had the procedure. Anyway, as we are talking a younger girl comes up and joins. As this young lady is talking I hear her say she was 358 and has lost 70lbs....yay right? Well as she was telling the group some held a strawberry pop, hot cheetos and a brash of peanut m&m's in her hand. She was not accompanied by anyone else do this junk had to be hers. Wtf yall!!!!! This was very discouraging. I want to get away from these eating habits yet she is proving its possible. And so I was reminded....THE SLEEVE IS JUST A TOOL!!! -
Does the number really matter?
readyanxiousscared posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've read many different posts by numerous members and the common theme is an obsession with the scale. Will it move this? Why hasn't it moved? And the list goes on... I want to know does that obsession with the scale ever go away? I want to believe that the visual change in my body will suffice, like my back fat disappearing or my thighs no longer rubbing or crossing my legs without using my hand to pull up my leg and keep it up (lol). I've been obsessed with the numbers on the scale for far too long and that obviously got me no where. I just want to love my body a.k.a. love the skin I'm in. -

Started eating more! Why
readyanxiousscared replied to AR40's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is definitely the truth, what else is left to indulge in? Lol I kind of wish my surgeon was like that. He basically told I was going to die after surgery if I smoked...OMG...THAT scared the Hell out of me. Are you interested in taking medication to stop? -
Just starting the process...
readyanxiousscared replied to Chez's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Chez can I be completely honest lol...these nerves you speak of and thoughts about every possible negative scenario are completely normal and often compete with the day dreaming about life after and your body after. I truly believe we have all in some way tried no it got get so excited because if we did and this didn't happen for us it would feel like the end of the world. Separating from the good ole buddy food is scary and also difficult. We want this now and to be honest Who wouldn't. This process does indeed allow you the opportunity to acknowledge your relationship with food in a way you never would if you did not have this "out." Embrace this period to become more aware of yourself on many different levels, many, you've never discovered. -

Does your doc know you smoke? I am 40days nicotine free but I will not take all the credit. My primary doc prescribed WellButrin for mild depression and smoking cessation. But I will definitely cheer you on. I'll make sure to message you on 3/21 -
Started eating more! Why
readyanxiousscared replied to AR40's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lol I also felt like I couldn't ask my nutritionist because she is sooooooo very small but also because I was afraid My telling her that I feel like eating everything would have a negative effect or slow the process. I was officially cleared by the nutrition, dietician and psyc last week (PRAISE GOD) and I have a second consult to confirm I want the sleeve and not the bypass (a decision made out of haste). I wish I could say I could have the surgery right after that meeting but because I smoked my doc wants me nicotine free for 3months...wtf....anyway I won't be eligible until May 3rd -
Started eating more! Why
readyanxiousscared replied to AR40's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Did your doctor ever say or expect anything from you before the preoperative diet? I can appreciate the significance of the preoperative diet but I feel like anything before that is impossible. I am concerned about upsetting my doc or seeming incapable of getting it together. -

readyanxiousscared replied to AR40's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi. I was going to start a post about this same thing. I recognize I am way closer than I was at the beginning of this process and yet I feel so far away. I am having the same issue with eating. It does not feel as if I'm mourning or having a last go around, it just feels like hunger.!!!!!!! I Have even thought of this as my way of sabotaging the whole.damn thing. Either way I don't know what to do.... #sameboat
