I'm in Dayton! Haven't gotten a date yet but I'm going with Dr. Teel.

I have UHC as well. I go to the surgeon again tomorrow and hope this process will speed up a bit now.

SandeeD- I'm grateful for your post. I know that my insurance (UHC) will have a pretty heavy deductible. I go to meet with my surgeon on Wednesday morning and even though I have a ways to go, I've been concerned about the financial part if this journey. Thank you so much for saying what my head has been thinking.

February 2014 surgeries.... Liquid diet?
Dawn2680 replied to Brian_Rodriguez's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm just restarting this process with my new insurance. It's pretty much a done deal I just have to go through the paperwork again. But I admit I'm a little scared too. I'm glad I'm not the only one -

Hello Everyone ! I was trying to get my WLS about 2 years ago and was turned down by my insurance. So, I just kind of gave up. I started a new job this past August and am now on a new insurance which requires employees to get a check up and cholesterol check every year ( unless you want to pay more for your insurance next year) . So I went to my family doctor and did all the stuff I needed to. This is the kicker ... my bariatric surgeon's office is on the same network and system that my family doctor is. So I get home that afternoon and the bariatric office calls and says Hey! We see you're on this new insurance and your bmi is over what they want. I can set an appointment for you to meet with the doctor again if you'd like. And since you already completed a 6 month diet and have the psychological evaluation you should be able to meet with the doctor and the nutritionist again and then we can schedule your surgery! I honestly about fell over but I am SUPER excited. Nervous but SUPER excited. And a little anxious... but SUPER excited
