I am scheduled to get sleeved in April with Dr. Rodriguez through Beliteweight. I would like to hear from anyone with experience with them. Thanks

I had surgery just last Friday with Dr. Rodriquez in Juarez. You are in great hands. I have had a pretty good recovery aside from deciding to returning to return to work today. I think it was a little early, but my fault. Today wasn't too bad, I'm just sore and tired. I arrived at the hospital the day before the surgery. They had my tests then got to go across the street for some lunch and shopping. The day of the surgery felt like a lot of waiting. Surgery was done then it was recovery time. Just make sure that you follow orders, lots of walking and do your breathing exercises. Just don;t overdo it. You'll do great.

Well, I am sitting in the El Paso airport waiting for my flight home. Everything went great. The doctors and staff are very nice. Everyone was very accommodating. Dr. Rod was helpful and eager to answer all of my questions. I am sore now 2 days post surgery but nothing unbearable. The doctor came in to take my drain out and asked me if I was ready to cry. I became worried. He asked me if I wanted to hold my moms hand. As I grabbed her hand he started to take his gloves off. He was done! He was funny. I would do it again in a heartbeat. I can't wait to start seeing results. Good luck to everyone.

In 11 days I will be headed to Juarez for my VGS with Dr. Rodriquez. I am filled with nervousness and excitement. I have a question about having someone with me. My mother-in-law will be joining me. I was told that the rooms are set up for a guest to stay with the patient. I'm wondering about these accomodations. Will there be a bed or at least a sofa for her?

Go to beliteweight.com Call the number and a wonderful facilitator will answer all of your questions. I hate talking on the phone but this was easy. My facilitator, Ishi, answered all of my questions without dragging out a huge conversation. She was very helpful and has returned every email with an email or a phone call.

Rose, Thank you for post all of this. I am having surgery Friday with Dr. Rodriguez in Juarez. This really helps.
-
Monkeyfish, I'm thinking of you. Good luck tomorrow. Let us all know how you're doing.

Definately a positive for me too. I am on day 4 of the pre-op diet and doing great. Just one more week. I am so excited and nervous at the same time. I'm ready for this new chapter in my life.
-
I had my true test today for the diet. I teach second grade. As part of a writing activity we had regular and double stuffed Oreos today. I didn't eat any. This was hard. I love Oreos!
-
I am hoping it goes well for the both of us. I started a couple of days early because I was worried about slipping on the diet. So far, so good. We will see tonight though. We are going out with some friends for dinner. I plan on ordering a small chicken breast with steamed veggies but who knows what the temptations will do to me.

I have started on the pre-op diet. I started Monday. Monday wasn't too bad but yesterday kicked my but! I had a horrible migraine by the end of the day. Today seems to be better so far but it's only 9am. Have you started your diet? How is it going?
-
Ok, I am now 2 weeks away from my surgery. I will start the pre-op diet on Tuesday. I know I need to watch my carbs. My facilitator said that I just need to stay away from breads, rice, potatoes, and noodle but fruits are ok. I just looked online and saw how many carbs are in apples and grapes. A lot! What have been your experiences? Are those carbs ok?
-
My facilitator is Ishi. She has told me the same thing. I will give you a call when I get there. I'm down to 21 days until surgery and I'm getting excited. I am ready for this next chapter in my life. I feel like I have done so much for others. It's my turn. This is for me.

I am so excited to get started with the diet because that will mean that I am that much closer to the surgery date. I hear you though with the thought of sticking to it. This does make me nervous but I plan on eating lots of apples. Apples keep me feeling full, I love them, and my facilitator ok'd them saying that the natural carbs are ok. I plan on taking it one day at a time and sleeping through all of the "hunger" headaches that the apples don't cure.
-
So sorry to hear about the delay. It is probably to make sure you are at your best before the surgery though. Best of luck with your journey.

I am scheduled to get sleeved in April in Juarez. Is anyone else headed that way at that time?
-
I will be flying in on April 17th for surgery on the 18th.

I am scheduled to have surgery on April 18th, Good Friday. I am hoping I didn't make a mistake scheduling over a holiday weekend. I have a high threshold for pain but I'm still worried about post-op pain management and the 6 hour flight home.
-
I start my day out with an apple everyday. I love apples. Gala apples to be specific. I have read through all of the info from my dr about the pre-op diet several times. It says fresh fruit is ok but it doesn't list apples specifically. I know that apples have carbs and that is the BIG deal with my dr is to watch my carbs. Any advice about apples? Can I still have my apple a day? Are those carbs ok?

Thanks everyone for sharing. I have been reading on here quite a bit and have noticed that a lot of people are having their surgery early in the week. My surgery will be on a Friday then I should go home the following Monday. However, I had the thought about the staff over the weekend. Did either of you have your surgery later in the week and stay over the weekend? I'm wondering if Dr. Rodriguez will be there to check on me or at least be on call while I'm there in case something were to happen.

Please tell me how things go. Best of luck to you.
