I eat pizza occasionally, but usually go for thin crust if possible. It's just not one of my favs after surgery since it sits kinda heavy.

I received a card but have never used it. I usually share with my hubby or my son. Heck, the other day we all 3 shared one meal. It's helped my hubby lose some weight (about 35 lbs since my surgery. ).

Most people don't notice. They are too wrapped up in their own stuff to notice.

I had that. My doc said it was where they removed the stomach and it would be more sore, especially in the mornings. If you experience pain when eating and drinking then call the doc ASAP!

My levels are perfect. I have them checked every 3 months by my surgeon and every 6 months by my primary care doctor (who prescribes the meds).

I had a similar pain. It felt like I pulled something. My dr said that is the side where my stomach was removed and I'd feel some soreness for a few weeks especially after I was more physical. It took a few weeks, but went away.

My doc gives protonix.
My friend decided to stop taking hers and could tell a difference in " hunger ".

Yes. I'm 3 months out and can gulp several ounces at a time.

Restriction is much less with liquids. Once you start purées and real Proteins, the restriction will be full force.

Hang in there! It gets better. The preop diet (I did 2 weeks of only liquids) was the worst part. I'm 2.5 months postoperative and have lost 55 lbs!

I do 800 calories with around 40 grams of carbs. I'm 2.5 months out. I've lost 55 lbs (since I started the process). For me, I go for real foods not low fat (like mayo). I will eat whole wheat crackers with cheeses.
I've become much pickier about what I eat. I watch for hidden carbs in processed foods. If I'm going to have the carbs, I want the real deal.

I indulged a little. It only took a few garlic French fries (about 5) and the craving was gone.

Milk is not my friend after surgery. Mixing powdered Protein with milk made my stomach hurt. I've switched to ready to drink Protein Shakes - Premier Protein or Atkins shakes.

I had an upper GI done as part of the preop testing. The dr advised and I had to consent for repair.

The pre-op liquid diet was the hardest part for me. After surgery, I was on liquids for 2 weeks, then began to progress my diet. I wasn't hungry, though, and didn't have the cravings. My entire relationship with foods have changed.
