My first NSV and it is personal and TMI
millergirl314 replied to want2besleeved87's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can't wait for that too! But I'm only 3 days out so I'm patient. Another thing I can't wait for is the "gap" you know the one the sun can go thru between your upper thighs and your coochie, yeah gap check please lol! -
What are your expectations of having WLS?
millergirl314 replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I expect numerous body parts stop hurting when in use and to start working properly without the added weight. I expect my jeans will last a lot longer now that my thighs will not try to escape the material on the inside lol. Good question! -
Any February 2014 Sleevers?
millergirl314 replied to honeyg317's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had surgery on Monday afternoon and if it wasn't for my liquid percaset I wouldn't sleep at all and I wouldn't get any liquids in either, it hurts when I lay down, hurts when I get up! So I know it'll take a lil while so I'm just gonna use the meds they gave me lol. -

One of the best decions i've ever made.
millergirl314 posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hello everybody, my name is Nicole. I had surgery on 2-24-14. My doctor uses out patient hospital services so I got to come home @ 10pm. This is most definitely one of the most important choices I've ever made. And I don't mind sounding quite selfish because in fact I did it all for ME! My stats: 5'6 S/W 272 C/W 254 G/W 140ish I lost 12lbs in the 2 week preop diet, which was basically the Atkins diet, I was only aloud 40 grams of carbs a day, and had to achieve at least grams of Protein a day. I cut out all caffeine, alcohol and carbonated bevs when I started even though I didn't have, I just made it a lot easier now that I really can't have that stuff. I'm so excited to finally start this journey. I have been heavy ALL my life. Even looking back at childhood pictures showed me over weight, not just big boned, as some like to say lol. I love this forum, it's helped me so much. Thank you to everybody :-) -

I'm feeling pretty good, they fixed my hernia too, now I'm all full of staples! Lol, it's been kinda hard to get the Fluid amount bc every time I take a sip my tummy cramps up real bad, they said its normal though. That's great that it cured your sleep apnea! How are you feeling now? -

I'm getting better I think, although this cotton mouth is crap! I feel like fire Marshall bill from in living color when I talk cuz my lips just stick to my teeth an gums! And I'm having a lil bit of a problem getting enough Fluid down, every time I take sip and it hits my tummy is cramps really bad. I'm sure it will get better though. How are you feeling? -

millergirl314 replied to Wendydarling19's topic in Food and Nutrition
I was on the low carb/ liver shrink diet prop and there are so many different ways of incorporating it into your lifestyle afterwards. I don't think I will be as strict about as before but it's a good idea and there are a ton of recipes too, this one on Facebook has me hooked called Low Carbing among friends. And it's easy to get your family invoked too :-) -

I've never been big on running, mainly because I never could run too well, but doing a 5k with my friends is something I can't wait to do! I live in snohomish county and there is always a cool run going in around the Seattle area! -
Gas pains!
millergirl314 replied to gastricsleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh man I'm hurting! I don't know if it's just the gas but I also had a hiatal hernia repair yesterday too and all of the pain is centered right under my boobs! They gave liquid percicet for the pain but if wears off after like 2 hours! -
Did anyone get a video or photos during surgery?
millergirl314 replied to niassy151's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got pictures of everything including the befor and after pics of my hiatal hernia lol. Interesting stuff! -
What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"
millergirl314 replied to bigjoe102's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Even though surgery was on my mind for a long time, the final moment that made me more sure of anything else in this world was HUNTING ! Last season was my first season and my hubby loves to hunt and so does my Dad. It's an important bonding experience for my Dad and I, we never really did much when I was growing up. I could find waders for duck hunting. Not the women's or the men's sizes. Another is running a 5k with my friends and dancing, I love to shake it in the club! -
As for requiring you to only use their stuff, pretty sure they cannot do that. I would contact your insurance company, if you are using one.
-
You can't go wrong getting the Premier Protein shakes for costco or I guess sam's club sells them too, I pay $25 a box but I'm gonna try to get them covered by my insurance plan. I didn't know you have to have prescription though. I wish they offered a strawberry shake, guess I'll have to get a different brand. I just bought liquid vitamins off Amazon, when I can take them again. I don't want to over work my sleeve bc of them.
