Post-op food nightmares..
millergirl314 replied to Cookiesgotthis's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
That is a nightmare! Prime Rib..... Yum. I think about food a lot too, particularly the meat stuff too, at least we'll be able to enjoy some prime rib eventually, lol -

millergirl314 replied to AmyV's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Happened to me too, I was sleeved in 2/24 and we had plans to go have dinner with friends but thankfully we went to a Chinese restaurant so I had egg flower soup, which I was more than happy with :-) -
Getting enough liquids in?
millergirl314 replied to solea78's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Great tip! I'm struggling as well the past few days. I think I'll set an alarm on my phone or something lol, especially since I was just reading a post on hair loss- yikes! -
HELP!....HAIR LOSS !
millergirl314 replied to mbsm1979's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
That blue liquid is called Isopure. They sell them usually at the vitamin stores. I actually just go finished drinking mine. It's a liquid protein drink. I think there is 40grams protein. It's a nice change not having the normal (creamy) protein drinks lol. -
I'm in the same boat as you guys, my 13 yr old son is on a pathway that'll be hard to change later. He's a good boy. He used to be really bad about stealing food all the time. To the point where there is no snacks for other kids or us to take to work. He has been getting better about it but the damage is done. Part of it is my fault though. I fix his plate for dinner so he eats what I give him. Thankfully I have changed that awhile back. If he asks for seconds on the protein or salads ( we have salads a lot) then I'll let him. No seconds on breads though. If he is still hungry I tell him to have a glass of water. Unfortunately poor eating habits were practiced in the past but we are all trying to make smarter choices now. I love my kids and I don't want they to grow up obese and unhappy with my body like me.

Booyah! Totally agree with that.

Any February 2014 Sleevers?
millergirl314 replied to honeyg317's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I didn't have staples but I know the incision site they pulled the stomach through on me has been the worse! Sometimes it feels like a hot searing burning pain from it, not sure why I didn't realize it but she said they had to cut my stomach muscles. I hope your incision heals up soon for you :-) -
I can't wait to have steak :-( I miss it so much... Sounds great for Carne asada quesadillas!

Loud Stomach Noises

I have the noises too, but it doesn't really bug me . My dogs give me weird looks though when they hear it :-) -
Best of luck on your day!

Haha I was wondering what the "call oven powder" was, made me giggle when I saw "collagen powder" instead, mainly bc my phone does that too. Anyways, I went in for my 1 week check up on Tuesday and asked that too, she said one thing that can help is lifting weights.

What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"

Yes the fact that I would literally hide from the camera then get a picture was eye opening. So many years I was just "camera shy" -

Omg I think I would've ran out if there! -
Talk to your doc. He'll prob want to do blood work and check all your nutrient levels, could be setting the headaches off.

pre op weight loss
millergirl314 replied to Amarie812's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to do the two week liver shrink diet, which is basically Atkins. I decided to cut out all caffeine, carbonation and alcohol then since I couldn't have it after surgery anyways, it just made it easier for there to be three less things I usually had but could no longer have. Going sugar free was hard enough at first anyways lol. -
Mine was out patient. Checked in at 1pm left at 9:30pm same night. Although if I had any issues or they thought I need observation they would've kept me overnight.

Most Insane work out ever!
millergirl314 replied to chanelle102's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Gosh I'm getting jealous! I hope I have similar results. How long do you typically wait before going to the gym, I know it really depends on the person but an estimate would be good :-) I got sleeved on Monday so the only thing I'm ready for is a walk and then bed lol! -
