The Lee jeans are diffinately mom jeans too. My 4 "new" shirts are long enough to cover down to my butt so the straight legs are the only give away. I am looking forward to some low rise bell bottoms. My luck they will be out of style by the time I look good enough to buy some...hehehe. Just to add, I found soooo many shirts with padded shoulders in my closet. Are they still in style ( I have my fingers crossed). I they are I will be looking sooo GLAM!!!

cantweight2go replied to olgi330's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wifeof pilot, How big is your band and how many cc's have they filled you up with? I am curious because I want to have hope that on my next fill on April 30th, I will have the same restriction that you are filling. -

cantweight2go replied to olgi330's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Olgi, I have not lost a pound since my fill. I also have not gained either. (this is a good thing) I got 3cc in a 10cc band. I just started to write down my foods again so I can keep track. I am hungry still. I am glad you got a good fill. I hope this is what you need to get you on the right track. Keep in touch. -

Ezma, I am in the same boat that u r in. My first fill didn't seem to make a difference in my hunger. I am trying really hard to just maintain my loss at this point. I am really concentrating on non-scale victories. I hope your, and my, next fill adds some restriction. Good luck to you! -
diet disaster since Easter
cantweight2go replied to olgi330's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Olgi, I was filled for the first time already and I still am hungry. It takes awhile to find that sweet spot. Sometimes it is overwhelming. Please be good to yourself. We slip but we should be on track more than not. A lot of us are with you on this. Good luck to you! -
Gained a pound on mushies
cantweight2go replied to HopefulinTX's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't gain weight but in 4 weeks I only lost 5 pounds. When I went in for my first fill the doctor said I had great will power to drop the 5 pounds. She also told me to look at non scale victories. Sure enough she was right. I lost 25 before the surgery and plus the 5 after surgery I have noticed my cloths are much less tight and I have gone down a size in my bra. I can also walk farther than I was before surgery. So, don't be too hard on yourself right now. Look for non scale victories and keep your chin up. Good luck to you! -
Food Processor/Blender
cantweight2go replied to luvnlyfe20's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use a hand blender, or as we call it....boat motor. It does it all very well and the price was right. I wish I had this when my children were on baby foods. I would have saved a lot of money not buying store bought foods. Good luck to you! -
Inches lost but little weight
cantweight2go posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi you all, I was wondering if there were others out there that have lost only a little weight but a lot in inches. I was upset about not losing a lot of weight in my first month but then I remeassured my self and so that I did drop many inches. Am I the only one? -
I only lost 5 pounds the first month after surgery and I was very upset. I lost 25 pounds pre op. My doc told me that any weight you lose in the first month is because of sheer willpower. She also told me to look for non scale victories. For instant my cloths are all baggy now and I went down a bra size. I also walked 11 miles last week. This made me feel better. The scale does not register these victories. Be careful also to stick to the post op diet restrictions, you don't want to screw up your stomach by eating stuff not on the diet. Good luck to you!

Can your new pouch hold an entire protein shake?
cantweight2go replied to SydneyLouWho's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor said no Ice in protein shake after surgery. I was able to drink the whole shake slowly. After the swelling went down I could drink it faster but I tried to make it last because I was told that was what I should do. -
Scared of my first fill
cantweight2go replied to Ezma's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my first fill on 2-26 and it made a little difference. I don't feel restriction but I am not hungry at all. I, too, have night time issues and since my fill I have only had either a protein shake or cottage cheese at night. I feel much less hungry and no cravings. Give it a try, it may help with your carb intake. Good luck! -
Starting my journey...would love some feedback!!!
cantweight2go replied to bandfan1's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Bandfan, I am 1 month out of surgery and I had a few things that I thought you might need to know. Right after surgery everyone drops weight at different rates. I suggest you get on to the Post Op thread and read some of the threads just so you know what to expect. I only dropped 5 pounds the first month after surgery. After you have surgery you swell up and have a little restriction. Once the swelling goes down you have no restriction until you get your first fill. Any weight lose at this point is due to your own will power. You will be hungry after your swelling goes down. Be careful not to cheat at this point. Your tummy is healing and it needs you to eat the right stuff so it heals properly. Non of this is a quick fix. Last week I walked 11 miles and I never lost a pound. Everyone drops the weight at different rates. Don't let some of the quick losers get you down. Make sure to messure your body too. I have lost a lot of inches but very little weight post surgery. Count non scale victories too. Every victory counts and keeps your spirit in the game. Good luck to you! -
4 weeks post op, hungry and not losing
cantweight2go replied to Linda Hamsing Rosen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Linda, I too, am 4 weeks out. I saw my doc yesterday and got my 1st fill. I only lost 5 pounds since my surgery, 25 pounds preop. I was real upset at the 5 pounds but the doc was very pleased. She said that I had will power. I know it is hard when you are dropping slowly and other, on this site, have lost so much more in the first few weeks. Remember to check for non scale victories. My doc told me this. My cloths are much looser now and I walked 11 miles last week. This is my non scale victory. Good Luck to you! -
I,too, am hungryyyyyy! Up until 3 nights ago I was on track with the Postop diet. I gave in and had 3 scoops of icecream and this morning, Easter, I had one slice of bacon, 2 scr eggs, and a very small pancake w/syrup. I go into see the doctor on March 26th and I hope I get a fill. Up to now I have been soooo good but I am running out of will power.

Like most over weight people I have few pictures of me. I hide when people bring out their cams. This picture below is all I have. Taken by daughter in Dec. 2007 right before I started pre op diet. Weight was 267....My highest ever.

still no poop!
cantweight2go replied to teebutterfly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 3 1/2 weeks post op and I am still having the same problem. I think that our diets are so restricted that it has changed the way our systems normally work. I have had to use Milk of Mag. a couple of times. I am averaging 6-7 days in between BM's. I think when we are able to eat more fresh veggies things will change....I hope. :cheers2: -
Are we in onederland when we need to drop one hundred + pounds or is it when we have reached a weight that is in the one hundreds 199 or less?
-
Hi everyone, I thought it would be nice for us all to have a place that we could keep in touch and compare our progress, express our concerns and just be able to let loose. I have already met a few people on this board that have the same surgery date. It would be nice to meet more.

What kind of excerise is everyone doing?
cantweight2go replied to karri68's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had my surgery 3 weeks ago so my doctor has not released me for anything other than walking right now. I am doing 2.25 miles 3x a week. I started Yoga in December and i love it. I can't wait to get back to it plus walking. Yoga is the first exercise in my life that I look forward to. When I am done I feel like I have done something wonderful for my self. I tried doing it at home with some tapes but I prefer a class at the local YMCA. My class is filled with old, pregnant and fat people. I fit right in. It sounds to me like you are doing great! keep up the great work. -
Hi CoolCrystal, Nice to hear from you. I have not been very successful with weight loss just yet either. I am down 5 pounds from my surgery date. I lost all of that last week. The first 2 weeks I lost nothing, which amazes me since all I had was liquids. I have my first fill on March 26th. I am really hoping for some some restraint. Right now I could eat a horse but I don't because of fear that I may damage the band site. Hopefully I will hear from you again on this thread!

Minock, I have my post op on March 26th. I have to have my GI, meet the dietician and the Doctor. My friend had her surgery 2 months ago with the same doctor and on her post op visit she was given her 1st fill. I hope I get one on the 26th. That will make it one month and one day past surgery. I have no restriction except the post op diet that I am on. If I weren't on this diet I would eat just like I did before band. I am doing okay because I know that my stomach must heal in order for the band to work. I don't want to screw this up. I am hungry alot though. I started weighing my self on Mondays and Fridays only. I lived the 1st half of my life obsessed over my weight, I don't want to live the next half obsessed over my weight too. This at least limits my obsession....heheh. I wish you much success on your journey!

Hang in there. I think I'm ,losing so fast because I ate so poorly before. You are still healing and are off to a great start, Hey at least you are not gaining. I'm sure if you keep up on the Proteins and Water it will kick in. Keep your chin up! __________________ Banded 03/04/08 Oregon Weight Loss Surgery, Portland Dr. Emma Patterson Beginning Weight 335.5 lbs. Elkhunter 65 you and I had the same doctor and same hospital. I hope you are doing well.

I had my surgery on the same day as you and I have only lost 5 pounds thus far. During the first 2 weeks I lost nothing. 20 pounds are a lot for less than a month. Be patient. I, too, am not eating a lot right now and it seems like the weight should be coming off faster then it is. I wish you luck!

not filled yet and eating everything i can.. 2 weeks post OP anyone with same issue??
cantweight2go replied to viviananna's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been on mushies for 6 days now and I feel more full if I make sure I have protein. For me it is pureed chicken. This does not mean that I am fine. I am very hungry most of the time but I am sticking to what my dietician said to do. I have my first fill on 3/26 and I am counting down the days because I could really use some help!
