What is your goal weight for your height?
sueellen64 replied to gingerjane's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 5'10 also, and am size 12 now at 195, so I am looking at 175. I am happy here if that is where I am meant to be, though! Size 12 is SO much better than 26-28!! I feel like a new woman 2 years post op! -
Has anyone done the Weigh Down Workshop program before? I'm interested in doing the bible studies, and would love to borrow or buy the books from someone. Thanks!!

Great! It's 1199 Baxter Street in Athens. If you Mapquest it, the zip is 30606. I'm terrible with directions, sorry. We have a psychologist coming to speak next week, she'll talk about tools to help with emotional/compulsive overeating. I certainly need to hear that! Let me know if you can make it.

Hey there! I'm in Athens...not far from you! I am 9 months post op and am down 99lbs so far. I have 31 more to get to goal. I will be glad to answer any questions you may have. I wanted to invite you to our support group the 3rd Weds of every month at St Mary's Hospital at 6pm. I found that a lot of my questions and concerns,(and fears!) were addressed at support group. They are a very friendly and helpful group of people! Welcome!! I wish you all the best. You are in a great place for information here! Sue

Welcome! Where are you in your lap band journey?
-
Hey there! Another GA girl here. I just wanted to wish you the best on your journey. I agree with the last post, keep copies of everything, and do all the faxing yourself. I had a nightmare trying to get my precert, but it helped that I got all my test results in my hand before I started.

I also have hypothyroidism, I have not had any problems, and have lost 88lbs (banded 9-20-07)I have however had to have my dosage adjusted as I lose, so keep a check on your TSH levels as you lose. I wish you the best!!

I have 2cc's in my 10cc band (4 fills) and I think I've just now found my sweet spot! I had sort of an epiphany when I realized that I had gotten there. Now I know how it's supposed to work! I get it now!! I eat very little, so I have to make sure the nutrition is there, and I am not hungry for several hours. I am starting to lose again now. I have been losing very slowly up until now, but still averaging 4-5 lbs a month. The doctor is happy with my progress, but my addictive personality wanted it NOW!! I am six months out, and down 78 lbs including what I lost pre-op. Be patient if you can, it's different for everyione. If you are like me, you'll definitely know when you are there!! May God Bless you on this journey...Sue

Thanks to you all for the info. I looked more closely and came to the same conclusion about Gwen and her methods and beliefs and chose not to try and follow the program. I will find a bible study that suits my needs, or I will just continue to read and pray for guidance. It has worked so far!! Blessings to you all. Sue

God knows your heart, and will hear our prayers. May he wrap you in a blanket of protection and love. God Bless. Sue

By now it should all be done---just letting you know prayers are being sent up for you, and we are thinking about you. I wish you the very best!! Hang in there thru the first few weeks, it's not easy, but so very worth it! Congratulations!! Let me know if you need anything! Blessings, Sue

Just letting you know that all that you are feeling right now is normal...Trust that God will lead you the right direction, and know that we are praying for your quick recovery, and for your success and health. God wants the best for you, take peace in that always. Much love, Sue----Everything gets better from here! I'll be thinking of you Friday morning! :huh2:

Thanks for responding! It's a bible based weight loss program. I actually found it on ebay and should get it soon. I will let you know how it goes. I am excited about starting it, but not sure if I can do it on my own. If I like the program, maybe we can figure out how to do it together! Sue

Hunger's Back! Will the fill work?
sueellen64 replied to danaclark2's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thenume, I know how you feel. I was banded 10-20-07 and am only down 15 lbs. I am feeling a little discouraged, and hope with my first fill, I will do a little better. (sch for 11-29) I guess we'll keep plugging along together! I was just released to return to the gym, so hopefully that will help, too. Good luck to you--I know we can do this. Sue -
Yet another newbie arrives...
sueellen64 replied to LauraD's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome, Laura! You will find lots of answers and support here. I am 3 weeks post-op and starting to feel like ME again! I wish you the best of everything! Waiting for the surgery is the hardest part. Maybe as a chef, you'll be able to help us all adapt recipes to fit our needs! That would be great. You'll be around lots of temptation, but hold true to yourself and your goals, and you'll be fine. Just keep the end results in your mind always! Take care of you!!--Sue:) -
I am 3 weeks post op today, and I know how you feel! Protein shakes will help curb the hunger, but I don't know if you're on full liquids yet or not. I have one for breakfast, then eat my mushies for lunch and dinner. I have more "head hunger" then anything else right now. It's all about baby steps. You will feel much better when you can get hydrated and get some protein in your body. Good Luck, I'm right here with you!! --Sue
