    Michigan Sleevers.

    I am a Michigan sleever January 2014
  5. I am so glad I found this. I am 1 month out and I have no energy. I thought something was wrong with me. I want to take a morning nap and an afternoon nap. I sure hope once the weather breaks here in Michigan and I can get outside, I will get my energy back. This is not how I thought it would be. I thought I would have a ton on energy after the operation. I get pretty bummed about it.

Feeling guilty for living in Florida...

I totally agree! And with the sun shinning it makes it even worse because you know its going to snow again before we are done. Mother Nature is playing a mean trick on us in Michigan!

Feeling guilty for living in Florida...

It finally made it up to 32 degrees here in Michigan today. It was almost balmy, lol. My son lives in Minneola north of Orlando, and just built a new house. I hope he added a Mom and Dad addition for us for the winter. As soon as our house sells, we are moving to Florida!! It can't come soon enough!! I told my husband, this is our last year doing the shoveling of the driveway! I love the 4 seasons but I think I can learn to not miss them. I wanna be a snow bird!!

    Surgery not performed?

Don't worry. I thought that too when I had mine done. I could easily drink my cup of liquids and not feel full. All that changed when I started on the mushy food stage. Now I know when I am full!! I cant take another bite! It will all be better, and the weight will come off! Good Luck and keep us posted on how your doing.

    POOP.

I am almost 4 weeks out and I still am having a lot of problems in this area. My Dr told me to use Ducolax Suppository. I have had to use this twice and that was the only time I have gone. I tired Miralax and that didn't help me at all. I am open to suggestions too. Thanks!!
  12. Lyndsey, Thank you so much for sharing your story. I lost my sister almost 8 years ago. I still think of her almost every day. We had so much fun together. She was 42 when she died, and left behind two sons. Holidays are still hard without her, but I know she is looking down from up above and watching over all of us. No one knows how hard it is to lose your sister until it happens to them. I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you and your family. Time does not heal all wounds, it just tries to make it easier to live with. Kandy
  13. I was sleeved January 21 2014. I started out at 234 and I was 226 the day of my surgery. I am on pureed foods now and this morning I weighed in 207. I am not a fast loser, but I don't care about that as long as I am losing that's all that matters to me. Good Luck to all of you on your weight loss journey!!

My last 4 can of diet pepsi

Hi Nancy, I was just thinking of you and wondering how you are doing. Don't feel bad if your still stuck with the Coke/Pepsi hang up. Like I told you before, it was sure not an easy thing for me to give up. I can remember the caffeine headaches, that hurt so bad, I thought I was going to die. It will all change when you get the go ahead for your surgery. Just keep thinking, it is meant to be. You will do fine. Take care and know I am still thinking of you and wishing you well on your journey.
  15. Nancy, Please don't let things get to you. I told you I can totally identify with you and your pop addiction. I didn't think I could ever give up my Coke/Pepsi habit. But the day they gave me my surgery date, I knew I had to shrink my liver. All I could think of was getting on the surgery table and having a fat liver and not being able to have the surgery. I would have been totally devastated. You will know when the time is right. I really hope I don't lose contact with you because your story is so much like mine was. I don't care what people say about me anymore, I am doing what is right for me. You will get to that stage too, I know you will. The Coke/Pepsi habit is a hard one to break! When the Dr gives you your surgery date, just keep thinking of all you have gone through and you have to shrink your liver. Please keep in touch and let me know how your doing, I am on your side, because I have been there.

    60+ sleevers please help

I am so glad I found this site! I had my sleeve done on January 21, 2014. I had my hernia taken care of at the time of the surgery and I was sore from that but not the sleeve. I was a bit sick the first couple days but after that I was fine. I too have some bad knees and I do a lot of bicycle riding in warmer weather. A couple years ago I took a bad fall on my bike and hurt my hip, so I am dealing with that. I try to walk on my treadmill at least 30 minutes a day. Right now its killing my knees but I keep doing it. I am finding out I am not as young as I used to be, I am 65. Thanks for sharing your stories, the weight will come off, I didnt put it on overnight and I know I am not going to lose it overnight.

    January 2014 Sleevers

Hi! I had my sleeve done on January 21, 2014. I really havent had any problems, except I seem to be tired all the time. I am on the pureed stage of the food. I hate it, lol. It pretty hard to get all the protein in, I keep thinking that part of it will get better. I went out before the surgery and got all the things I was supposed to get. Now, just the smell of the Whey Protein and I gag. Are you having that same problem? I drink alot of water, and I was never a water drinker before this. I try to walk at least 30 minutes a day, some days I am only getting in 20 but its better than nothing. Your right about the head hunger thing. My head tells me I am hungry but my stomach says, You put something in me and I will puke it out, lol. I would do this again in a heartbeat but its not easy all the time.

My last 4 can of diet pepsi

I know how hard this is. Have you gotten a date yet for your surgery? I didn't stop drinking Coke until I got the date for my surgery. Then I knew I had to stop, there was no way I could have the surgery and continue to drink Coke. It made a big difference in my mind, knowing my liver would not shrink if I didn't stop the Coke. So many times I would wake up in the morning and say, "Okay, today is the day to stop drinking Coke." By 10:00 I was at the drive thru getting a large Coke. Then being mad at myself all the rest of the day because I didn't stop. When they gave me my surgery date, that was it. And now, I have gone since January 11,2014 with not even a sip, and to tell you the truth, I don't really miss it. I drink alot of water. I hope this will help you, know you are not alone in this journey!!!

My last 4 can of diet pepsi

Nancy, I was a very bad Coke/Pepsi Drinker. I could not go without a trip to McDonalds at least twice a day for my Large Coke and then at night drink Pepsi. I stopped cold turkey on January 11,2014. I started my preop diet that next day. I had my Sleeve done on January 21,2014. I didn't think I could do it. Giving up my Coke/Pepsi habit was the hardest thing I had to do. But you know what happened? After I took that last drink of Pepsi, and kissed my old friend goodbye, it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I haven't missed it. I am so happy with my weight loss that I don't even think about it. I guess what I miss more is drinking with a straw!! That has taken more to get used to than drinking the Soda. Good Luck on your journey, trust me you wont miss it once you don't have it.

    Always worried about something

I too worry all the time about stretching my sleeve. I am only 2 weeks out and I am following the program exactly like I am supposed to but, I find myself gulping Water. Will that stretch it out?
