8 months progress pics!
onlybroomegirl replied to LumpySpacePrincess's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Don't worry! I stalled right before onederland too!! -
Today is weigh in day. My scale hasn't moved in 2 weeks. But this am I lost 1 & 1/2 lbs. I am officially OVERWEIGHT! I have never been so happy to be overweight! Obese no more! My NSV... I wear a lab coat at work. Before surgery in February I wore a tight 2x or a loose 3x. My boss had bought some extras & I tried one on yesterday. It is a medium & it fits!! Hubby said it looks a little big but smaller probably wouldn't fit my shoulders. Asked my boss if I could buy it & she just gave it to me!! Yay!

One of the best decisions I ever made! Just be prepared that sometimes it's hard, but oh so worth it! It is also hard when everyone is so focused on your weight! Let's face it, most of us have avoided discussions about weight most of our lives. Now everyone wants to discuss it with me. But truly it's wonderful!! -
Any February 2014 Sleevers?
onlybroomegirl replied to honeyg317's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I will be 5 months Saturday. I've lost 87lbs. I have 2 or 3 week stalls... But I feel fabulous. I've been able to clean out most of my closet. Which is great, but also kinda sad. Weird right? I didn't expect to be distraught over my wardrobe? It is fun & a little exciting. But some of my clothes were really nice & I can't afford to replace them so fast. I have gone to consignment sales & I've got some cute things from our local Facebook yardsale site. I'm thrilled with each new size. I am happy with how I look & feel I've been a success. I'm off almost all my meds! I take 1/2 of a blood pressure pill. My hair has been falling out in handfuls! Luckily I had a lot of really thick hair. -

February Sleevers.... Check in!
onlybroomegirl replied to Lulah's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Darianna you look fantastic! Way to go!!! I need to figure out the side by side pic! I go thru 2 weeks phases where I don't lose a lb. It helped when my husband sent me my pic from the night before surgery. Do y'all think there is anything to the " you are eating too few calories" thing? I get all my protein & water in everyday. I have less to lose now, but I still need to lose! -

I think you still want something to drink. This has been one of the hardest things for me. Not necessarily during meals but scheduling to not drink 30 min before & 30 min after. I think you will feel sick if you do drink during meals. But I've honestly not tried. One sip when I ate something too hot! Also you will not stay as full if you drink fluids during a meal. It just takes a little work but I do believe it is very important. Best of luck to you -
4 month Sleeve Anniversary: 82 down, 77 to go.
onlybroomegirl replied to CrazyJaney's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Crazeyjaney I completely agree! I'm almost 5 months post op & have lost 70% of my excess body weight. I feel like a new person!! I can buy clothes in regular stores & am off almost all meds! I take 1/2 of 1 blood pressure pill. Previously I took 4 tablets per day. I also have had no diabetes meds since 1 day preop & my A1c was 5.1 three months post op!! I have more energy & am loving life. There are days that are extremely hard. I do believe a lot of it is in my head. It doesn't seem fair that my family eats ice cream & I have a sugar free Popsicle. But that's my new normal & I would take that any day over carrying around that extra 85 lbs!! Good luck to everyone!! This is a tool that can HELP you succeed! -
Yay for you!!!

I'm almost 5 months post op & do feel my vision is different. I'm also over 40 so not sure if related to surgery or age! Good luck!

Great job!! May you have every continued success!! -
They say miralax is easiest on your system. I have found biascodyl (dulcolax) to be very effective. It does cause more cramping though

Anyone in Diabetes Remission?
onlybroomegirl replied to brians34's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My A1c was 8.6 presurgery. I stopped diabetes meds 1 day preop. My a1c 3months & 1 week later was 5.1. I'm very careful with my carb intake. My dr also said Rny was better for diabetics but did not push the issue since I preferred the sleeve. I have been completely happy with my sleeve. Good luck -
