My name is Kathy, and I'm 23 years old. I'm a Christian. I'm from North Carolina. I started my weight loss journey last May, when I had an initial consult with a surgeon in Morehead City. I had made it to one appointment after that, and my supervisor at the time stopped allowing me time off for appointments. I then lost my job in July, and lost my insurance. I was able to be added back onto my dad's insurance in September. I had lost all hope and had become discouraged because of what had happened at my job. In October, I had started researching what my new insurance would cover, and I had an initial consultation with a new surgeon in Raleigh. That initial appointment was on 11/21/13. I completed all the pre op requirements and found that I am perfectly healthy other than I'm obese. I had the gastric sleeve procedure done on 1/20/14 at Rex Hospital. I had lost around 22 pounds between initial appointment and surgery. I've always had problems with my weight, since birth practically. I'm excited about my new journey
