In my lifetime, I have lost 285 pounds! Unfortunately, I have gained 340 :( I have determined that my failure is because I have always considered weight loss a temporary lifestyle change until I lost the weight. Willpower was never the issue while losing the weight, only when it was time to maintain the weight loss. I have done the lose 50 pounds, keep it off for a while and then gain 65. My last failure was a weight loss of 75 pounds and gained 110. After much soul searching and prayer, I have finally come to the place in my life that I am ready to make a life long commitment to a thinner, healthier me!! I am scheduled for lapband surgery on February 24th. I know this alone won't fix my weight problem, but it will give me the tools needed to lose the weight and keep it off.
I am a very active 56 year old! I work full time, direct my church choir, officiate high school VB and in the summer spend every possible minute I can at the river enjoying my camper and pontoon! I am a single parent with a beautiful daughter who just recently graduated from Pharmacy school and I am so lucky that she found a job in our hometown, it is wonderful having her close by! I look forward to someday walking her down the aisle for her wedding and then hopefully getting to spoli grandbabies someday!
I love a good joke, I love to laugh and the one thing that makes me sad is the way I look. I know how awewsome it feels when I am not so grossly overweight! I am excited about the new lifelong journey I am about to take. I know it isn't going to be easy, I am nervous about surgery and some of the horror stories I have read, but I am also hopeful that this will be a successful lifetime change for me.
I appreciate that there is a website like this. I have read many of your stories and have gained a lot of strength from them. Thank you in advance for helping my on my journey.
