I wasn't trying to squeeze anything extra in. I just ate some of it and was wondering. I had no thoughts of " trying to get away with something". I was just asking a simple question and wanted an answer. I am new at this and answers like this are a huge turn off. Thank you for your answer. I appreciate your answer.

How do you eat soup?? I mean, really i know what to do, but how do you go about eating it? I had some homemade Italian wedding soup and ate my meatballs while sipping up the broth. I got in 3 little meatballs with about 1/3 c broth. Normally when I eat regular non soup items I fit in 1/4 c total if I'm lucky. Was I able to get in a little more because of the broth with the meatballs?

You sound great! I am doing good too. I have been eating some mushies for a few days now. All seems good except for a la yogurt over the weekend. Today I have some mild dull aches on my left side under my boob. Anyone else dealing w this? My glue over my incisions has started falling off. One got caught in my night gown so I am protecting it with a band aid and neosporin. Including that one, I have 4 glue less incisions. What else have you tried eating? Tonights dinner is refried beans, a little light sour cream, some food processed ground beef, a touch of taco sauce and some cheese. Sounds like a lot right? It all amouts to a 1/4 cup, lol.

Need breakfast ideas, sick of eggs and protein shakes
mommyjamie replied to NMJG's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I had creamed chip beef with 1 egg. Omg, best breakfast yet! Thanks for the suggestion. Btw, I'm on soft/ purée foods and it was perfect! 13g protein -

Tonight's dinner: about 2 tbsp ricotta, 1/2-1 oz mozzeralla, I slice lean ham chopped up. Micro for a minute. God it tasted like the inside of a calzone. Yum! But I could only eat half

This is so difficult!
mommyjamie replied to aNewTanya's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 2 weeks post op and feel the same way I just want to eat something normal. Having said that, I had french onion soup last night with the onions and a bit of cheese , chewed good and feel a lot better today. -
I officially HATE protein shakes!
mommyjamie replied to yolicious1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hate them too. I drink 1/2 EAS dark chocolate with my morning pills and the other half at some point during the day. That's all I can tolerate. I am trying to get my protein from somewhere, anywhere else. I bought that protein shake book too. While it gives you good ideas, ugh just the thought of another shake makes me gag. -
I'm a 21st sleever too! I am on purées now and am struggling. I really cant stand eating paste like stuff. I kind just mush things around to make them purée like. I had a cup of French onion soup from panera for dinner and snack tonight. 1/2 dinner 1/2 snack. I just chewed the onions well. No croutons though. I actually felt like a normal person for a little bit. Lunch was egg drop soup. Snack was a la yogurt that I ended up dumping. Dont eat those, I felt horrible. Breakfast was egg salad. So far no problems...

Dumping syndrome after cherry yogurt?
mommyjamie replied to mommyjamie's topic in Food and Nutrition
After 2 episodes of cramping and diarrhea, I feel much better. It wasn't frozen yogurt, just regular yogurt. I won't make that mistake again! -
I ate a cherry La Yogurt for lunch today and within an hour I was sweating and had to poop so bad. Barely made it home to have diarrhea. Is this from the sugar in the yogurt?

Lol, yesterday I had..... 1/2 EAS dark choc Protein shake. I use it to take my pills instead of Water. Canned chicken squished down really really good with light mayo, a touch of salt, pepper, and curry. I chewed super good and took the tiniest of bites. Ate about 2 tbsp. For lunch I attempted a meatloaf and mashed potato smart one. I put a small portion of the meatloaf in my mini food processor and put it in the gravy it comes in. I ate a few bites of each meatloaf and mashed and that's it. I felt fine and yes, everything was a smooth consistency. dinner was egg salad. Again squished down really good and chewed really well. It was just egg, mayo, salt, pepper and a touch of dry mustard. Only got in about 2 tbsp. While dropping off my stepson last night we stopped a dunkin donuts and I grabbed a simply orange oj. First oj since April 10th. Not as good as I remember at all. I drank 1/2 then added water to the other half. I am 13 days post op. I guess technically week 3 ( purée) starts Monday but my surgeon moved me up to full liquids a few days early so I'm going by that.
