I'm just now having enough energy to stay awake most of the day. And most days I still take a nap. I'm going back to work on Friday. I'm two weeks post op.

My surgery was scheduled at 9 but ended up not happening until almost noon. I just kept busy talk to ppl in the waiting room to keep my mind off of it. You won't be miserable because nerves will take over and u won't think about it. Good luck!!!

My soft diet paperwork says creamy peanut butter is allowed. It also says I can start ground meats or thin deli meats so I tried to eat a couple slices of shaved turkey... Not even 5 mins later I threw up and now my stomach is killing me! So ..... I can't do that just yet.

Has anyone else's weight fluctuated? I can lose a lb a day for several days and then for a day or two it shows me to have gained a lb or two. I don't understand it... But those gained days are VERY frustrating!

Can we have peanut butter on the soft diet?
-
I a two very thin slices of ecrich sausage and a piece of teriyaki chicken that was the size of my thumb nail. The sausage didn't hurt but the chicken did.

I totally ate neat today. Not a lot at all! But yeah... It hurt when it hit the stomach. And yesterday I are the cheese topping off of pizza.

My stomach starts cramping up and so I just stop cuz I'm not sure if I'm full or what.

In doing pretty good. I'm down 23 lbs since pre op. I raked the yard today! I'm still pretty sore around my incisions but overall fairly good! I get tired very quickly but that'll get better. I ate mashed potatoes today. It took me almost 2 hrs to eat a cup. Lol but held them down. I think in ready for softs but I'd LOVE some meat! How about you?

So I have been freaking out that I've been able to drink about 1.5-2 cups of liquid over 30 min period. I thought that was too much. The surgeons said that it was great to be able to drink that much but won't be able to eat that much. So today I made a cheddar potato soup and could only eat 1/4 of a cup of it and was full!

It's soooo ridiculous that I feel like I just ran a marathon after I do something simple like getting my kids ready for school.
-
Have u started soft foods yet? Or still liquids?
-
Holy crap! That's fantastic!!!!!
-
It's very scary! I don't want to be able to eat that much! Otherwise the surgery was pointless!
-
I measured it and its 1.5-2 cups at a time. It takes me about 30 mins to eat it but I'm really worried.

Is anyone else being able to drink that much fluid?
-
I'm having a reg sized bowl of strained Chinese hot n sour soup!!!!! My taste buds are in heaven!!!! But still very surprised that I can drink as much of soups and broths as I can. Good news... I'm 18 lbs down since day 1 of my pre op. 5 of which I've lost since surgery!

: ) it's just hard for me to watch my husband having to do EVERYTHING when I feel like I can do something but clearly all I can do right now is get my walking in. Anything more wears me out really bad.

So I felt pretty good today and so I got up and started cleaning in the house and stuff and working in some laundry.... BUT that was a mistake! Cuz bout 45 mins into it I started hurting and was very shaky. So I sat down and cried.

I hope so! I did put a piece of steak in my mouth and sucked the juice out and spit the meat out.... It was sooooooo good!

My family had a cook out tonight! Steak, chicken, sausage... Etc... And then there was me with a protein shake. I was mad on the inside! Plus I don't FEEL any different. I can easily drink a coffee mug full of broth. I'm terrified that when I get on reg foods that ill be able to eat just as much as I could before. I have not yet experienced "full".
