Stick to the plan, its only for a little while, yes it sucks but its something you have to do and be strong doing it, you will be all the better for it in the end.
Full liquids was not that bad, protien shakes with greek yogurt, creamed Soups, its much better than that clear liquid by far. and if you like cheese, campbells makes a cheese Soup that is still one of my favorite soups!
If you eat things you should not eat you run the risk of hurting yourself, do you really want to go back into the operating room because you HAD to have that bread and cheese and now blew a staple and are having septis, oh yea that can KILL you?
Dont be silly, buck up and get through it, you know you can!

Thank you for your suggestions...and I absolutely LOVE cheese. I actually thought I was going to have to give it up during this stage (except for ricotta). Have you tried salmon as a fish during your puree stage? IF so, how did you prepare it? I would really like to make salmon patties (salmon croquettes is what my family calls them) but is the frying part going to be ok? Or should I try to bake them instead?

I felt absolutely no pain, none! Sure I did feel like I had just woke up the morning after doing 1000 sit-ups, but there was no pain. I was up walking nearly as soon as I returned to my room, and continued walking till I was released the following day. I'm seven days post op, and have not at any point felt any pain!

I was sleeved on 9/2/14, i was totally out of it and on pain killers in the hospital for two days, after that the dr sent me home with tylonal with codine but i havent used it. I was soar for a few days when i got home but it was pretty much nothing.
you also have to remember your internal organs do NOT have nerve endings and can NOT feel pain. the only discomfort you will have is the incision marks and honestly, i have had worst cat scratches from my cats!
dont freak out, just do it, it will be the best decision of your life!

JadedMage reacted to Sleevarilla in Worried I'm hungry! ONE WEEK OUT
It's probably gas and/or acid pains. Your new stomach is very much in a healing stage, and mine still makes all kinds of noises. You could also be thirsty, thirst can mimic hunger pains. Are you on a PPI?
I also wouldn't worry about being able to consume 5 oz. of liquids at this point. Your full feelings won't really be that noticeable until you move on to soft foods. Liquids and pureed foods are more of a slider, they just move right on through and don't really fill up much.

Baby food meat is gross. Bland and gross. Purees was my most hated stage. Have a Greek yogurt or refried Beans with some melted cheese. But for the love of all things holy don't do baby food meats. Ick gross Ick.
There is also unflavored Protein powder you can put in stuff like Soup, apple sauce, pudding.

I did puree meat but doctored it up a lot. Yes, just tossing some meat into a food processor with Water or even broth is gross (IMO) but if you can be a little creative it is quite doable. I would puree meat with some flavorful sauce, then usually heat it up in the microwave in a little ramekin with some cheese to melt on top. It came out tasting like a casserole and I really enjoyed it. Some of my favorite combos:
--ground beef with BBQ Sauce and cheddar cheese
--shrimp with buffalo sauce and blue cheese
--chicken with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese
--turkey with peanut satay sauce and jack cheese
--salmon with lemon dill sauce and peccorino cheese
--pot roast with curry sauce and Swiss cheese
    --chicken with hoisin sauce
--tuna with olive oil mayo and cheddar cheese
I also did a lot of refried Beans with hot salsa and pepper jack or cheddar, Shelly's ricotta bake:

and Greek yogurt with Peanut Butter stirred in.
I had fun with the foods on pureed stage, plus I managed to get all my Protein and more in every day. Good luck to you!

Protein sources during puréed stage: Greek yogurt, Protein shakes, cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, unflavored Protein powder mixed into baby food fruit, applesauce, and in your crystal light.
Protein Shakes will be your best chance to get in a big amount (25g plus)

My Scheduled Surgery Date is July 16th, Im happy, scared, excited and would do anything to have it be over already! I still have a few doctors and tests to go through, but everything is going well so far. I have insurance that will cover it as long as its medically necessary, which beleive me, it is!

I was diagnosed and they wanted me to do a second sleep study with the new CPAP. Since it was too close to my surgery date. They just preset it for me. It auto adjusts. They trained me and I used it maybe 2 days prior to surgery and brought it in with me. No delays.

That's to bad, I have sleep apnea and I'm not sure what they may have done differently but they were aware of it and it is way better to be safe in this situation! It will probably help your recovery to once you get used to the CPAP. Best of luck to you!
