I am probably like almost everyone on here, tried for decades to loose weight, had some success's, some failures, some fads but was never able to keep it off. As I got older, it became harder and harder to get the weight off and even harder to keep it off. It was always so easy to give up and bake a cake, then eat the whole thing. I have probably lost 1000 lbs through out my life but it always came back with a vengeance.

About 5 years ago I was diagnosed with diabetes. I started to take insulin. I am lucky that I do not have any of the other symptoms of diabetes but being on insulin makes it nearly impossible to loose any weight. It fights you at every crossroad! And because I am so insulin resistant, I have to take an enormous amount of insulin a day. To top it all off, my blood sugar is still not right! My weight has everything to do with it and I know that.

Besides not being able to go for long walks, or bike rides, hikes, plant flowers and veggies in my garden, or do anything I think is fun. I am always tired and feel like I could do so much more before I die.

I feel that this weight is killing me slowly. I could never afford to do this surgery on my own, but as luck would have it, my new insurance plan at work will cover it. So it will be this year I make the changes that I have so wanted to make for years now...This will be the year of ME! :D
