  1. I had a similar experience last Thursday. I had my surgery April 1st and this was my first fill. The PA poked me at lead t5 different times and pressed on me so hard and she could not find the area to stick the needle. Then the doctor came in and did the same thing. I bled through three bandaids and still have a huge bruise. I went and got my fill done under fluoroscopy yesterday and my port is tilted and that is why they could not find the right spot. Under the X-ray they were able to push in the right spot and in one stick it was done. My suggestion is get done under fluoroscopy.

  2. Instead of the shredded chicken try the canned chicken and put light mayo in it. The canned chicken is more moist and the mayo will help it slide through the band. Try making your own pintos and cheese like you get at Taco Bell, I really loved that when I was on soft foods. I also got some frozen turkey meatballs and put them in the ninja with spaghetti sauce.

  3. Really I just followed the guidelines that the doctor gave me. My band was empty until today which is 3 months out and I have not exercised because I was not allowed to do anything the first 6 weeks except light walking and I broke my ankle 7 weeks ago. So really just following the food and Water guidelines.

I get more then my 64 oz of Water in each day which helps keep me full and always get my Protein first. I really limit my carbs.

I hope after this fill I can keep it going.

  4. So sorry you are in so much pain and feeling so bad. It does get better every day, so keep that in mind that the worst part is over. Walking, drinking Water, ice packs and the heating pad are all things that helped me get past the first few days. I really had no interest in any food and sf Popsicles made me gag at first. Water, lite apple juice and small amount of Protein Drinks is what I could keep down. If you not allowed Protein drinks try nectar. It is a clear thin Protein Drink. Good luck and I hope you are feeling better soon.

  5. Drink tons of Water and get your Protein Drinks in. Both will really help you with hunger and healing. Also have some warm broth, but the water is the most important. Don't eat anything that is not approved by you doctor. You may not feel like it, but you are swollen and getting food stuck right now will not help with your healing. Good luck and follow your doctors orders.
