Did anyone who has Cigna gain weight while they were seeing the nutritionist and waiting for incurance approval? I had my first nutrition apt at the beginning of November and my last one will be in February and my weight has fluctuated the entire time (up and down). My BMI is 43 and my coordinator or counselor has not said anything to me about the weight gain and if this would be a factor in my insurance approval. I look up Cigna's policy and I don't see where it says anything about this. Anyone else have this situation and can let me know what their outcome was? Thanks!!!

It is different for everyone. Got my band 4/1/14 and only have had one fill and they put 1.5 cc in my band. I am down 75 pounds and really don't feel that I need a fill any time soon, but again the could change any day. Keep doing what your doing and you will know when you need another fill. -
You are amazing. Such an inspiration!

Good luck! I am having my gallbladder removed next week as well on Wednesday. I have a band and the dr kept telling me it was my band because my pain started in the middle of my chest and right shoulder. I have had back pain for a long time so maybe that was early signs. Well good luck to you and hopefully we are both feeling a lot better after this surgery.

Did they use surgical glue in your incisions? I am allergic to adhesives and now I know surgical glue as well. I had big read rash and blistering around each incision. It took weeks to clear up and a prescription for steroids and a steroid cream to clear it up.

Had pains below my breast bone and in my right shoulder three times and almost landed in ER because the pain was so bad. It took my breath away and lasted about 25 minutes. First time was about a month and a half ago and PA said my band was too tight and took half a cc out even though I only had 2 cc in it. I had an attack last Thursday at work and one on Sunday and went to my doctor on Monday. The PA have me the song and dance about band issues and told me I may have a slipped band. I told I don't have the symptoms and I thought it was my gallbladder. She said she did not think so and scheduled am ultrasound and an EGD for same day. I told them no I was not doing the EGD till ultrasound came back. So today I went to the doctor for the results and I have a bunch of stones and gallbladder wall is thickening. They are going to call me to set up my surgery date, but I so wanted to tell the PA "I told you so!" Sometimes we know our bodies better and I had no symptoms of a slipped band. Really scared for the surgery and being put under. That always makes me so nervous. But glad I know the reasons for the pain now.

Need my gallbladder removed - nervous
RedStorm replied to RedStorm's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thank you everyone. I am hoping it is very easy! Guess I am nervous because a co worker just had it done and she was in horrible pain and throwing up for a week. She also said she did not feel normal for like a month. Hoping it is not like that for me. -
My doc said it is a pretty easy procedure to fix it. So far I can live with it so I am just going to live with it this way

I hit onderland today and did the happy dance right on my scale. I am almost 6 months out from surgery and have lost 64 pounds and have 1.5cc in my band. My port is what they call tilted but in other words sideways. I am 6 months out and at times I have a little discomfort there. When I have gotten fills they have to press on it a certain way to have it lay flat to be able to do the fill. They have said they can go in and fix it and it is a minor surgery but to me it is not that bad where I want another surgery right now.

We’re excited to announce a brand new version of our free iOS & Android app!
RedStorm replied to JustWatchMe's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
Yes add free would be great and I would pay for that to. Also to go to timeline like we use to go to current and only see thread that pertain to the surgery that I had. I have to scroll and scroll and scroll to go through all the threads to get to ones about lap band. -

On the new app how do I filer the timeline to only see posts related to lap band? In the old app I would go to current and it would only be lap band threads. -
Walk, rest, sip fluids, repeat! Sounds simple but all very important. Walk to promote healing and work the gas out, rest so your body can heal and you can be back on your feet quicker, sip those fluids to stay hydrated. Throw in the ice packs and heating pads and that is what my day 2 consisted of.

My doctors office really pushed the sleeve and tried to talk me out of the band. I did a lot of research and I have seen people be successful with all 3 surgeries and fail with all three. So for me I wanted something reversible and one with the less recovery time and less invasive. I stuck to my guns even though they don't do this surgery at my doctors office much any more and I am loving my results this far. Do your research and go with the one you feel most comfortable with.
