I use Body Fortress from Walmart and Premier Protein shakes from SAMs. They are both good.

Finally a Very Special NSV
RedStorm replied to Mikee57's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congratulations. That is a great feeling. You are doing amazing!!!! -
With all the holes they poked in me it would not stop bleeding. My shirt was bloody and I soaked through two band aids. It seems to be slowed way down now, but I had to leave work and come home and lay down and put pressure on it. Thank you everyone for thinking of me and I will let everyone know what happens on Monday. I am hopeful it is just tilted or hard to find and not flipped.
-
Well after waiting an hour I have to come back Monday. Hope it is just tilted.
-
Thank you so much. The doctor office said I was doing amazing, but noticed I am getting hungry like an hour after lunch so was going to do a very small fill (1cc). Waiting to see if they can do it today or if I need to come back next week. Hopefully it is just tilted.

3 month out and i need my first fill
RedStorm replied to RedStorm's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thank you everyone. I will let you know how it goes tomorrow. -
Up until a week ago I was doing great with my hunger and lost 45 pounds in a little over two months. I passed on my first fill because of my progress, but I think I need one now. The scale has not moved in 3 weeks and I am starting to get hungry all the time. I go up a pound and then down but not past the 45 mark. I have my fill apt in June 26th so that makes me happy. A little scared to get a full but need to get my hunger under control.

Congratulations!!!!!!! That must be so exciting. I can't wait till I join you. Great Job!!!!!!

SF Popsicles and Motts for Totts apple juice are what helped calm my stomach. I sat in a reclined chair as well for the first three days. I did not sleep for long periods during this time. I napped here and there for a little bit at a time, so it was good being in the living room with the TV. Use heating pad and ice packs for the pain. I started feeling a little better after day 3 and most of the worse gas pains were gone by day 5. I was tired for about two weeks as my body healed. After that my energy came back. Good luck and hope you feel better soon

Banded on June 3rd
RedStorm replied to LowRainRats's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Is your tongue white? I had a bad taste in my mouth and it was thrush. If you notice your tongue is white go to the doctor so you can get on the meds. Hope it is not that though. Hope you feel better soon. -
Anyone banded on Aprils fool 2014?
RedStorm replied to lole's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yes I was banded on April 1st. I think I am doing pretty good and my doctors office is happy with where I am at. I am down 44 pounds and have not needed a fill yet. Scheduled to go back to doctor on June 26th. I have not been exercising because I broke my ankle 2 weeks ago when I was moving into the solid food phase. So with no exercise and new foods I think my weight loss is slowing down a little. Still not overly hungry and satisfied with a small amount of food. Trying new things every day. How are you doing? -
3 months and down 5 pounds
RedStorm replied to Its-time's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
That is awesome congrats!!!!! -
Have you had your first follow up appointment. They did not tell me about the exercise not using my stomach muscles until my first follow up after surgery. I went in with a list of questions and exercise was one on the list and that is when I found out. The weight will come off when your body heals and if you are following your doctors eating plan. I am just shy of two month (surgery April1st) and I am down 43 pounds. I have really not exercised much due to my broken ankle when I finally could, but I have followed the eating plan exactly. Don't push yourself with exercise or advancing in food stages.

My doctor told me not to do anything that used any of my stomach muscles for 6 weeks. The only thing I was allowed to do was walk in a flat surface or flat treadmill. Your still healing so take it very slow. I just started working out when I broke my ankle

Post Op Essentials!
RedStorm replied to Ariellestarr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Unless your going to have someone at home with you the first few day make sure u have everything u need sitting on your counter where u can reach it easy. You don't want to bend to much. I drank water and motts for totts apple juice and that was pretty much it the first few days. -
2 days until I am banded
RedStorm replied to Tracy Learmonth Shaw's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You probably will not find liquid Tylenol the brand name. Not sure they make it any more. Go to walmart they have their brand of it. I looked everywhere and that was the only place I found it -

You look amazing. Great job!!!!! Live seeing the before and after pics side by side. -
Had my surgery on April 1st and today was my follow up where I would receive my first fill. We decided that I am doing good with the 1/2cc he put in at surgery and not to get a fill today. I am down 40 pounds and feeling great. So happy!!! I attached a pic of my face the day of surgery and one from today.
-
Thank you gowalking. You look amazing as well!! I hope I am lucky like you and never need a fill. Right now things are going great and I am very happy with my band. I know the shoe could drop at any moment and hunger will set in so I am just taking it day by day.
-
Thank you everyone! I can't wait till my ankle heals so I can start to exercise.
-
No I just have the regular lap band
-
Thank you so much. I fell so good. If it was not for this broken ankle I would be wonderful.
-
Like they said everyone is different and depends if your doctor put any fluid in your band during the surgery. My doctor put some in mine (not much) and I am 7 weeks out and still my hunger is not that bad (knock on wood). I eat 3 meals and one snack and stay below 800 calories and I get hungry around my time to eat but that is about it. Good luck and just follow your docs instruction exactly how they are written. Don't eat anything not on their list for you or too early and stay with the amounts they tell you.

My cycle started durning surgery which was a week early. Also I have an IUD, so most times I really can't tell when my cycle is, but this time was different. It was horrible.

Awesome job!!!
