Hello you all!, my name is Nathalie,19, big fandom girl, and I’m from Venezuela :) -basics covered?-

I have been big since I remember, when I was 9 I went to my first nutritionist and lost 10 kg in 3 months, but like most diets, if you stop them you tend to gain twice that weight, and that’s exactly what happened to me. When I was 14 I went to the endocrinologist where I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and insulin resistance problems which could be regulated by taking 6 pills a day.

…What happened next is that I lost 18 kg, YES!

However, once I was in a healthy range I stopped taking those pills and right ahead started gaining weight.Things got worst once I moved away from home to learn English and college, this is where I hit my highest weight of 230lbs/105 kgs. I went back to my doctor, and like last time they put me on treatment, however all those pills produce me an erosive gastritis which was horrible, I stopped taking them and started exercising 5 times a week, eating small portions of food 6 times a day, but I didn’t lose any weight, in fact I was gaining.

1 year ago my family started talking about other options as a gastric bypass, which I refused at first because I tough it was just for lazy people and that I could do it.I laugh right now at how ignorant I was about this, now I’m 5 months post op and I cannot describe how this has changed my life. This gave me the change to be a healthier person, to push myself harder in order to reach my goals, and I cannot be more thankful for this decision.
