I had my lap band surgery on the 16 January 2014. It took me a while two years to make up my mind. I am so happy that I did this surgery. Since the 16th January 2014 I have lost 7 kg. I had no complications, I felt positive and determined. I am not a young person anymore but very young at heart. I am 54 years of age. [ATTACH]40855[/ATTACH]

Congratulations on your struggle. You are voicing what so many of us new lap banders fear. Glad to hear that our eating pattern changes. I did my op in Johannesburg South Africa on the 16 January 2014. 2 weeks ago and I lost a total 8 kg. Yesterday for the first time I realised that if you don't follow the band rule you can put on weight. I had a sweet craving. Which made me worry so early in the game. Happy I read your article.

someone would be kind enough to let me know what they do in an instance like this. Hello there, it's been 2 weeks since my operation and today was a very difficult day. I was craving sweet stuff so badly and I just could not for the life of my change my mindset. I am a little fragile today and scared that my mind will let me down. Please if someone could advise me

Congratulations BrantS1976. An amazing success. Your reply is both informative and encouraging. I have just had my lap band done and I have already lost 7kg (15.75 pounds). I am still at the foothills of my path. I am a South African woman from Johannesburg.
