It has been frustrating waiting to get a surgery date. I started the program at 287 pounds and I am now down to 250. My goal weight was 259. I have Kaiser Insurance and they are paying for the procedure. It seems that the doctors are so backed-up, they do not know when I will be scheduled. I can't even get an e-mail response from my e-mails or an estimation when surgery will take place. It has been frustrating and becoming difficult to remain at my weight goal. Any suggestions on what I should do next? Any advice is appreciated:sad:

It appears that you and I are at the same stage. I am waiting to be scheduled for surgery. It has been difficult maintaining my goal weight. I have used protein mixes in juice drinks that have not been too bad. When I first start preparing, I used to drink sparkling water. I miss this beverage the most. I have had indigestion and other minor digestive problems but chewing my Tums have help. I hope you have great success and lets keep in contact for support.

I have been advised that I will probably have the surgery late April or early May 2008. I have the same problem. I have not found a good solution. I often become very thirsty while eating. I realize I am drinking out of habit but it is difficult to wait that 60 minutes after eating.

I am also curious about this. I am waiting for my surgery date but there has been no mention on how long I will be in the hospital.

I live in Elk Grove and hope to be banded by late March or Early April 2008. My last psyche consult is this Friday. Its great to know that there are other banders in the Sacramento Area.

This is a great thread. It is good to have something for the guys. I met pre-op goal weight 260 lbs in November. My last psyche consult is Feb 22 and I have been promised that if all goes well with the consult I will be scheduled to be banded in March or early April 2008 at the latest. My problem is that I starting to gain some weight back. I have not found a support group just for banders in my area (Sacramento, CA). The groups I have attended were too critical about my choice to do the band rather than the gastric bypass. You guys are the only support and I really need it now that I am close to surgery. I know the feeling. It is difficult to go through all of the info. I have my final psych consult on Feb 22. If all goes well< I will be banded in late March or early April 2008. Once Iachieved my goal weight for the band, I have found it difficult to keep weight. I fear I am gaining again. Any advice
